Shirt Sponsorship

It was muted on here last week, that because of the current loss of revenue at the club, we on the Forum should have a collection to sponsor a player. Well I think it is a good idea and so I am asking if there is anybody else out there who would wish to contribute. I am willing to collect the money ( You can trust me I'm a policeman !) if people want to send it in. It will take just 10 people at £10.00 each to raise enough for one players shirt or 5 at £20.00.
I know there are some of you who already sponsor a player but I am appealing to the others who probably find the full £100.00 a bit much. My suggestion would be that we sponsor the player as the "Margate Fans Forum" and would suggest that maybe we could sponsor the new player that we might, probably, maybe, hopefully sign in the not so distant future. Obviously this will be open to a vote and at the presentation we could have a draw to see who gets the shirt. My plan would to get a final total and at a forthcoming home match (we have plenty to choose from) present the cheque on the pitch or in the clubhouse to a member of the board, as a group. Another suggestion is that if I get contributions from enough people out of the area, the sponsor could be as The Margate Exiles. I know there are a few in the London area. I will start the ball rolling with £20.00, which I will contribute to the club whatever happens, and if anybody else wishes to contribute you can PM me for my address. If anybody else has any other suggestions please add your comments here. |

Great initiative MS and a great response.
How will you decide on which player/s to sponsor?

As stated in the opening paragraph, we will have a vote on it nearer the time.
