The Hertfordshire Senior County League is sponsored by MyNews

The Herts Senior County League was formed in 1898 and reformed in 1935, and has been providing a high standard of amateur football across the county and beyond ever since.

The League is progressive, and was awarded full Step Seven status by the Football Association in 2011, with a hard-working Committee always looking to innovate and provide an excellent standard of competitive and affordable football.

The competition is split into three elements, the Senior, Reserve and Development, and Inclusive Sections, and also run three cup competitions; the Aubrey Cup, Bingham-Cox-Cup and Cecil Hudson Cup.

The Senior Section has two divisions with promotion to the Spartan South Midlands League for our Champions or other eligible clubs, the Reserve and Development Section has two geographically-organised divisions, with the Championship being decided by a Final between the two divisional champions, and this Section includes the reserve teams of our Senior Section clubs, plus 'Development' teams, with the aim being to provide a nursery environment for teams and players moving up to open age football for the first time.

The Inclusive Section provides competitive football for players with a wide range of disabilities and learning difficulties, the League merging with the Herts Inclusive League in 2013 to create this Section, the first time that a mainstream competition had incorporated inclusive football in its structure.
