Just been on the K'S site and there are rumours of Kingsmeadow having been sold to A.F.C. Wimbledon. Mr Khosla, the chairman?, is to make a statement later this week. A shame if the K's go out, bad for footy in general!

It says that they have been granted permission to play there for rent!

AFC Wimbledon have a special general meeting on 24/3 at which 3 options will be discussed:

1. Groundshare with Tooting & Mitcham (for which planning permission has already been refused by Merton Council);

2. Groundshare with Kingstonian (i.e. continue the present arrangement);

3. Purchase Kingsmeadow (approx 3 million quid+) and rent it out to Kingstonian.

Not sure of all the implications for both clubs, no doubt there will be lots of discussion on both clubs' message boards this week...

AFC Wimbledon have decided to purchase Kingsmeadow - if they can raise the 3 million+ pound coins they will need to do this. In response, a group of Kingstonian fans is to establish a trust to hopefully take over the running of the club at the end of the season. So it looks like K's will survive, albeit as tenants at what is currently their own ground.
