I think you guys will go up. Saying that, it would be very easy for Aldershot to slip up with the run in you've got. Unfortunately, I don't think we can go through to the end and win every game. Still, It'll be fun waiting to see!

Well it's not looking too good is it?

Even if we win all our remaining games, Aldershot if they win their game in hand will have to lose at least three games and draw one for us to be even level on points.

Hopefully one of them will be against us <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> so that will reduce the gap slightly.

But having still got to play the likes of Hendon, St. Albans, Billericay twice, Sutton & Chesham. I can't see us winning all of them as well as Kingstonian, Enfield & Harrow.

With each point we drop, I slowly lose confidence and when Aldershot finally have this League in the bag, we can concentrate on making up points and the Bryco Cup Final.

If we win the Bryco Cup I reckon the Ryman Charity Shield game during pre-season will be a cracker...but then again, that's what everyone said about the Gravesend friendly this year!

Now we are able to fully understand when Pro managers state "one game at a time"

They are not being flippant it really is the only way to keep the players focused and motivated

Shots have had great runs and big time bad runs in their history

One game at a time

As Pabird said one game at a time. If we win on Saturday and Aldershot lose to Hayes, which is very possible (Terry Brown's ex club and Hayes in good form) then it is back on.

If Shots still had to play most of the bottom half then I would have said no chance but their run in is very tough. We might not win all our remaining games but as along as we remain unbeaten in our last ten games and beat Aldershot anything's possible.

In theory Aldershot's game in hand is away to Hendon on the Thursday before the final Saturday of the season. Away to Hendon is not an easy game.

To be honest the chances of us going up are not great but we have to keep believing. If we decided to say that's it, the league is over and concentrated all our efforts on the Bryco Cup and then Shots had a

complete nightmare in their remaining games we would never forgive ourselves.

We have too keep going until it is mathematically impossible.

I hope you dont!!!!!!

Can't see us blowing it to be honest we are playing some half decent football again and the defence is very mean. I'm normally pessimistic about our chances but I reckon its a cert we will now get promoted!!

To put things in perspective, to succeed in the Conference, you definitely need a solid fanbase of 1200 +. Aldershot fulfill this need, Canvey seem way short of this figure. Here at the Fleet, we averaged 900 last year, 1200 this year, but have found the step up in standard everything we expected, ie tough.

Therefore, coming second (again) may be a blessing in disguise. And Jeff King won't be so much out of pocket !
