Question for all you experts on the rules...

In the image below the two players were both in contact with the ball still as they slid over the line.

Would it therefore have been a corner or a goal kick - or is it simply that one take priority over the other team in this situation. And no I can't remember what was awarded. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

At differing times FIFA and the FA have given instruction to give preference to "attackers" where in doubt
Years ago the reverse was true
Others will state it is for the ref to use his descretion?

I think that the attacker should be given the benefit of the doubt as the ball is moving forward. The defender has obviously tackled the player and therefore has the incentive to put the ball out of play. Or is that just b***cks?!?!

p.s what about that other decision in the first half where we totally mugged the ref ?
