Enfield 2 Barking 0 Thomas (8) Stanley (15)

And bounce back we did for the first 15- 20 mins but the rest of the game our boys never reached top gear , I thought Barkings keeper should have walked for his challenge on Chris ,after all he was the last man ,A poor decision by the Ref on that one issue but otherwise he did have a reasonable game . 3-4 missed chances that would usually be put away could have made the scoreline look a bit more convincing , Barking had 2/3 half chances but Steve wasn't that troubled . But still 3 points , Nice to see some away fans in for a change ,I think we had 150 ish in today .

yes the first 20 minutes we could have had 5 or 6 and every body thought that their keeper should have walked for taking down C T and he was the last man by a mile . The second half was fairly even but scrappy.

Enfield 2-0 Barking

In the very first minute Ricardo Armado's corner was met by Jack Coomes header but Barking's keeper Liam Stone was well equal to it. Moments later Graeme Butler's cross found Sherwin Stanley's head but his effort dropped over the bar. A chance for Barking as Craig Dickworth's backward header goes over Steve Wright's bar on 7 mins . On 8 mins E's were ahead as Sherwin Stanley slips a perfectly weighted ball through to Chris Thomas who made no mistake as he slotted past Liam Stone into the bottom corner 1-0 E's . A cross from Sherwin Stanley and Chris Thomas just misses the target with his header 9 mins. Another E's chance on 10 mins as Sherwin Stanley hooks a shot on the turn wide . On 15 mins E's went furthur ahead as Sherwin Stanley puts Chris Thomas clear but his shot come back off the underside of the crossbar but Sherwin Stanley was first to it and made no mistake in firing the ball home 2-0 E's . Barking to their credit came back into the game and Jim Noakes shot was saved by Steve Wright 20 mins. A Graeme Butler cross finds Sherwin Stanley but again he puts over the top 23 mins. Another opening for Barking as Jim Noakes found some space but Steve Wright reacted quickly to grab the ball at his feet 30 mins. Barking's Dean Clark does well to set up Dwayne Miller but the Barking No9 misses his kick 32 mins . Moments later Fabio Jesus lets fly but it was well over Steve Wright's crossbar. Steve Wright felt the weight of Dwayne Miller as they both went for a loose ball ,The E's keeper needed a few moments to get his breath back. A good run and cross from Deniz Mehmet but Chris Thomas couldn't stretch far enough and his shot hit the side netting 37 mins. A shot from range by Fabio Jesus but it was well off target 41 mins. Ricardo Armado shot over the top a minute later . A cross from Ricardo Armado smacked against Liam Stone's post on 45 mins and in added time Paul Oshin puts wide . H/T

2nd Half .... A cross by Deniz Mehmet appeared to strike a Barking hand but Referee Mr Dorling waved play on ? On 48 mins A moment of controversy as Chris Thomas was put clear and as he lobbed the ball over Liam Stone the Barking Keeper clattered into him ,But Mr Dorling only booked him ??? Graeme Butler's subsequent freekick was saved by the very fortunate Liam Stone.
A corner for Barking from Neil Matthews was met by Fabio Jesus but his header cleared the bar 50 mins.A groggy Chris Thomas was replaced by Danny Jones 52 mins .A great Deniz Mehmet cross was met by Ricardo Armado but somehow he puts his header over the top 53 mins. (E's sub Elvis Balic on for Jack Coomes 55 mins) Elvis Balic's freekick finds Sherwin Stanley but he heads wide 56 mins. Danny Jones shot was saved by Liam Stone on 58 mins. (Barking Sub Johnnie Offei on for Dean Clark 60 mins) Good work from Danny Jones tee's up Sherwin Stanley but he miskicks and the chance is lost . An amazing 40 yard run by Deniz Mehmet evaded several challenges but Liam Stone saved his shot well 64 mins. A shot by Fabio Jesus but Steve Wright was able to save easily 66 mins. Great work by Deniz Mehmet wins the ball back and tee's up Danny Jones but E's new marksman fired over the top 68 mins. (Barking double subs Tom Mottram & Sam Oke on for Dwayne Miller & Fabio Jesus 70 mins) Sherwin Stanley slips a ball through to Danny Jones but Liam Stone did well to grab the ball at his feet 76 mins. (E's sub Lee Benmore on for Ricardo Armado 82 mins) Deniz Mehmet did well to get behind the Barking defence but his shot rebounded off Liam Stone and then off Deniz and rolled behind 85 mins. Sherwin Stanley's shot on 88 mins was blocked . Paul Oshin's shot in stoppage time was well saved by Liam Stone ,And the last action saw Craig Dickworth's cross met by Jim Noakes but Steve Wright had it well covered F/T Att 157

good all round performance on saturday - went 2 up and could have already been 2 up at that stage.
plenty of opportunities to make it 5 or 6 really, - but a good 3 point none the less.

still think the league will be settled at games like ours on saturday, plus when the top 3 play the eton manors and romfords.
who knows it may go to goal difference,

money still in us,
c u saturday - beaumont ????
