Should be an Interesting match tonight and against a team thats beaten the better sides in this league . Like us they have had a wobble or two of late but we'll still have to be on our guard. Is chris Green back tonight is the big question.

We should have been 3 up at half time but again we just cant hit the target .How many times have we seen this ? shots high wide and not so handsome with 80% of the game dominated . The second half was an embarrassment with their keeper not having a decent save to make . Southend have their first shot on goal with 10 minutes left ,Their second a few moments later goes a foot wide , Their third one goes in , Was anybody surprised because I wasn't in the least . They wasn't good enough tonight and to be honest they aint good enough anyway . You have to feel for those two boys who travel from Milton Keynes and to elder fans like Frank & Reg to stand out in the freezing cold to watch that pile of cack tonight. PROMOTION NOT ON THIS SHOWING .

It wasn't a 'pile of cack', we just wasted a lot of chances. There's still a long way to go, and we're still well in the running.

Enfield totally dominated 1st half, took a early lead with a well taken goal, then proceded to camp in Manors half for the full 45 mins, a mixture of bad finishing and 2 wonder saves from manor keeper kept the score down too 1-0 at half time. The 2nd half was a much more even contest, 10 mins from time a free-kick is not cleared and the ball is smashed into net for a manor equaliser. Where is the title going now ?.

Chopps....that Would be quality if you could maintain a challenge as the dark horses....but if Im correct, you guys have tough away trips to Concord, Barking and Enfield. You also have tough fixtures at home to Burnham, Bowers and Barkingside!

For me, your fixtures are a little too tricky, ecspecially as you guys are already 6-9 points adrift!!

Great Season to date though for You guys!! Concord look odds on for me, but Barkingside have the points and a freebie against Beaumont this weekend!

Southend Manor 1-1 Enfield

Wes Borghys fired a freekick over the top in the first minute. Ricardo Armado spots Adam Seal off his line but lobs the ball over the bar 3 minutes. A cross by Sherwin Stanley is met by Dave Parkingson but Adam Seal pushes the ball wide 6 mins. Ricardo Armado's corner finds Sherwin Stanley but his mishit shot is easily saved 7 Mins. A ball through the middle via Remi Nelson splits Southend's defence in two and Dave Parkingson is free to slip the ball past Adam Seal 1-0 E's 8 minutes. Remi Nelson's shot is saved on 14 mins . Steve Wright was alert enough to punch away a dangerous freekick from Jack O'connor 18 mins. Steve Wright again is called into action and this time he is clattered as he catches Dave Flynn's freekick 27 mins . Remi Nelson sets up Sherwin Stanley but he loses control and the chance is lost 29 mins. A freekick from just in side E's half by Steve Wright is partially cleared and falls to Dave Parkingson but his shot clips the outside of Adam Seal's post 31 mins. Dave Parkingson is booked for disputing a decision by Referee Mr Bond 34 mins. Remi Nelson's long throw is met by Dave Parkingson but his header goes wide 37 mins. Elvis Balic's freekick is met by Sherwin Stanley but Adam Seal pulls off a brilliant save to keep it out 39 mins. Elvis Balic harshley booked for a minimal challenge 40 mins . Ricardo Armado is felled from behind as he jumps for a header but unbelievabley Mr Bond and his assistant failed to spot any wrongdoing 42 mins . Ricardo Armado tee's himself up but blasts the ball over the top in stoppage time. H/T

2nd half ....A very poor and scrappy second half started with ..Sherwin Stanley flashing a shot across the face of Adam Seal's goal 48 mins but nobody was there to tap it home .Sherwin Stanley puts Deniz Mehmet away but he too does likewise in flashing the ball across the goalmouth 51 mins. Chris Green needed attention as he clashed heads with a Southend forward 54 mins .( E's double subs Wes Borghys and Elvis Balic off for Paul Oshin and Graeme butler 56 min) Dave Parkinson shoots wide on 67 mins. Paul Oshin is clattered by a loose elbow but again Mr Bond fails to spot any wrongdoing 72 mins. With E's still having mostly all the territorial possession Southend have their first shot at goal but Dave Flynn's shot is narrowly wide 79 mins. A 25 yarder by Aaron Baldin on 83 mins was even closer with Steve Wright well beaten but it went a whisker wide . The warning signs were now flashing as Steve Wright claimed the ball Dave Flynn went in heavily and a mini fracas broke out . Lewis Sparrow was booked for a chop on Paul Oshin 85 mins . Graeme Butler's freekick falls to Sherwin Stanley but his shot is saved by Adam Seal 86 mins . But on 87 mins a long throw by the corner flag finds its way across to Lewis Sparrow who forced the ball home at the second attempt .(E's sub Danny Jones on for Dave Parkingson 88 mins) Southend hold out for 5 mins of stoppage time with no furthur chances . ................................ I'm afraid we were just got careless in the latter stages .

Southend Manor 1 Adam Seal 2 Jack O'connor 3 Chris Wilson 4 Jason Jay 5 Lewis Sparrow 6 Jonathan Wheatstone 7 Martin Stanton-Hope 8 Ty Benjamin 9 Aaron Baldwin 10 David Flynn 11 Ross Webster subs Dave Birnie 14 Craig Davies 15 Mark Sisson 16 Dave Tubbs 17 Freskin Rushiti

Enfield 1 Steve Wright 2 Mark Whittington 3 Wes Borghys 4 Elvis Balic 5 Chris Green 6 Remi Nelson 7 Deniz Mehmet 8 Adilson Lopes 9 Sherwin Stanley 10 Dave Parkingson 11 Ricardo Armado subs 12 Danny Jones 14 Paul Oshin 15 Graeme Butler 16 Chris Thomas 17 Carl Robinson.

Moaning is necessary here when we should have had that game wrapped up by half time! Isn't Wes our skipper? who had to go off anyway unfortunately, hope he isn't out long.

worrying times for us e's
my predictions have gone a bit south,
if all go according to the rest -
barkingside get 74pts,
Concord 73 pts
Enfield 73 pts

but so close it could still go to goal diff in the end, concord look the most likely side to close games out, although only 1-0 at sawbo ??? and lots of games still to play.
going to be an interesting finish

It's still very much in our own hands.

Has the Concord match been arranged yet? Midweek before the Vase final is as good a time as any.
