An enjoyable match to watch and fairly even up to half time ,Two strikes either side of half time rocked the home side .

A pleasant club to visit and I would like to say good luck to Sawbridgeworth on their ambitious 3 year

Sawbridgeworth 0-4 Enfield

Sam Oki made his first start for E's .

A good chance for E's arrived on 2 mins as Remi Nelson's cross almost found Deniz Mehmet but he just couldn't stretch far enough to connect with the ball. But Sawbrideworth were going to be no pushover as Matt Hayter's ball through to Brad Doyle gave the Sawbridgeworth no9 the chance to test Steve Wright but the E's keeper made a good save to deny him 10 mins. An up and under by Matt Hayter had Steve Wright backpeddling but he managed to regain his ground and push the ball wide 11 mins. A dipping inswinging corner from Dan Crook almost caught Steve Wright out but he managed to palm the ball away 12 mins. The early scares woke E's up and we began to get in our stride and Sherwin Stanley played a ball through to Danny Jones but a good block denied his goalbound shot 15 mins. A chance for Sawbridgeworth as Kevin Moore tried his luck from 25 yards but was off target 22 mins. Lee Benmore's freekick was met by Sherwin Stanley but his header is a whisker wide 30 mins. Lee Benmore's shot on 33 mins was deflected narrowly wide . E's were now gaining the upper hand and Mark Whittington's freekick was met by Lee Benmore but he headed over the top 35 mins. Matt Hayter found himself booked for an off the ball incident and Dan Crook was also booked for dissent in the same incident 37 mins. Sherwin Stanley's shot was well saved by Dan Bibby on 38 mins . Steve Wright had to scurry across his goal line to save Adam Sontag's shot on 44 mins . Sawbridgeworth's dogged resistance finally cracked in stoppage time as Mark Whittington put Danny Jones away and Dan Bibby made a good save only for Lee Benmore to nod home the rebound 1-0 E's . H/T

2nd Half .... (Sawbridgeworth sub Dan Hudson on for Adam Sontag) E's went furthur ahead in the 47th minute as Lee Benmore's corner was headed on by Jack Coomes and Chris Green was on hand to crash the ball home from close range 2-0 E's. Remi Nelson did well to put a measured ball through to Danny Jones but he wasted it by firing over the top 49 mins. A shot by Wes Borghys was deflected wide 52 mins. (E's sub Neil Hughes on for Danny Jones 62 mins) A chance for Sawbridgeworth as the lively Dan Hudson shoots wide 65 mins. Deniz Mehmet puts Sherwin Stanley away but he fires wide 69 mins. A shot by Dan Hudson was well taken by Steve Wright 70 mins. A good try by Brad Doyle was blocked by Sam Oki on on 72 mins. Jack Coomes was struggling after a heavy collision and was replaced by Adilson Lopes on 75 mins. A shot from Brad Doyle was deflected wide of Steve Wrights goal 77 mins. A scuffle between Sam Oki and Richard Longley got them both booked on 78 mins. On 80 mins Wes Borghys delivered a peach of a cross from the touchline and Sherwin Stanley slipped his marker to blast the ball past Dan Bibby 3-0 E's. A good piece of defending by Sam Oki as he disposessed Brad Doyle with a well timed tackle 83 mins. (Sawbridgeworth double sub Neil Peddley & Richard Blanchflower on for Bradley Smith & Paul Baker and for E's Ricardo Armado on for Lee Benmore 85 mins) On 87 mins E's were furthur ahead as Deniz Mehmet picked up the ball on the halfway line avoided several challenges before whipping over a perfect cross for Neil Hughes to ram the ball home 4-0 E's . Wes Borghys booked for a foul 90 mins and a shot from Sawbridgeworth's Dan Hudson goes over the bar 94 mins. F/T

Maybe. Be interested to hear if he was the one who let the fire extinguisher off. That'll teach those nasty Chinese dictators. Next time there's trouble in Tibet he'll throw a stinkbomb.
