See Ya Next Season

Well done today! To be honest if it hadn't of been for Jerome John it would have been a different result, he was superb.

We seemed to be going through the motions today.

'ricay' wanted it more than us and when we did get the ball down and play it, we looked good.

We've played worse and won but we seemed very leggy and most of the players seemed to be thinking about their summer holidays already.

Hopefully next season's fixture will have more riding on it, be more competitive and we can assess just how good these two sides are.

Anyway enjoy your moment of glory whilst it lasts, it doesn't come along very often!

Well we'll let you have your little moment of glory but the real laughing point was your fans celebrating at the end like you'd won the FA Cup. It was absolutely hilarious. Goodness knows what would happen if you actually won something! Street parties in Billericay!!

Anyway enjoy while you can and it was nice to see some of your fans actually bothered turning up today. I thought JJ was excellent and your number 9 played well.

Anyway it's nice to see you lot happpy at last, you're always moaning!!

Well 'ricay' the potential is there. You beat us today but can you fulfill it next season? It's no use beating us if you're just going to finish mid-table is it?

Let's hope next season both of our clubs can really make a challenge for honours.

Anyway well done today!

What Wembley in Ryman Div North, yeah we've been there.

Oh well only another week of the school holidays!!

As for the comment about questioning the players' attitude unfortunately Canvey fans care little about Billericay these days. We're already happy about beating Grays twice this season!!

Anyway 'cum on ricay' shouldn't you be bed yet?

But Cum on Ricay what you fail to realise is that when the island sinks under the Thames, New Lodge will become a beach with all the sand and sh*t on it, but also a very lame excuse for a sea-wall that was only considered due to the huge slope on it!

Our pitch maybe below sea level, but at least it's flat and watered!!!

BTW - You mentioning 'Fatty' King, but even he seems normal when standing next to the likes of Calder & the Referee.

and another thing, Cum on ricay, if your posts are suppose to irritate us they are not, because we can't flipping understand them. You might as well type it in Chinese!!

PS

Have you ever considered a job as a stand up comedian? Your the funniest thing I've seen this year.

No wonder the sheep in the field next door looked scared!!

What can't they afford beds in Billericay?

I think Grays should be renamed Canveyricay rejects united.

I thought their 9 and their keeper had outstanding games and you must praise the manager for motivating the rest of his side who are less than up to being top 6 value in skill levels

Very often these no win games where key players take their foot of the gas pedal do show up the built in weakness that costs valuable points in crunch games

It just seems suicide to me that when playing three at the back we do not have a holding mid-fielder in front of the three

It was even more noticable when Dobby left the game that a five to ten yard gap was built in between the back three and the mid-field

When that gap is in place one of the back three is consistantly pulled out of position

When the opposition attack fast down the flanks one of the three is pulled wide and again with no holding mid-field player to drop in we are exposed

Playing 3 at the back gives responsibility to others

Dobby!! You mean as in the house-elf? <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

You know pabird I actually managed to make sense of the bit of tactical knowledge. Most just go right over my head.

BTW - Glad to hear Craig is staying with us next season, one of the most loyal players I feel.

Dobby of course not related to dobbin?

Tell you the truth Canv its a position I fancy Crow in

Two footed clearer of the ball when necessary and educated to defensive covering one of his better skills is the early accurate simple pass

Biased? no

Well I say that over the last two games that Crow has played in, he does seem a good passer of the ball. He likes to put our hearts in our moves though as some of his passes do seem weak and almost certain to be cut out, but no they meet the man and the play continues.

I thought he had the perfect oppertunity to score yesterday in the first half to be honest, beating those 'Ricay defenders into the box all he needed was a good low accurate strike and I'm sure it would've landed in the bottom right hand corner. But lets not forget that Crow has already scored one of the more important goals this season and the handful of Yellow Army that made the trip will remember it.

As for new signings I'd go with three, new players coming:

One young defender to cover for the first-choice back-three, another Crow or Wardy but younger and faster.

An left-winger that has pace and can actually be a suitable substitute for Duffy or Spencer Knight and a midfielder that can natuarally play behind the front two another Minton but young and gagging for oppertunity.

The holding midfielder can by Dobbo or even Dave Gregory if someone gives him a good kick up the back side.

Midfield oppertunities will be a battle and half next season. We'll have at least Parms, Benno, Dobbo, Minton, Proths & D. Gregory all battling out to play as the three central midfielders. Duffy, Knight and probably Forbes on the left wing, JK, Mark Graham, & Michael Lee on the right.

Up front we'll have our four current Strikers I don't think there's a need to sign anymore that that and at the back we'll have Cheners, Crow, Wardy, Cowan, Ross Johnson. The 'Keepers will be Potter, Ash and perhaps more of Glen Johnson, although I reckon one of the senior 'Keepers will be leaving.

About 4 players will be released and some others might even be bought and progress to higher standards of football. I'm sure JK & Boylan are on some peoples hit lists.

BTW - Does anyone know why Mark Graham wasn't playing yesterday? I don't think he appreciates coming to Park Lane to sit on the bench. I reckon he's a quality player and hopefully will not end up like Danny Bolt and back at 'Ricay!
