Driving round the country, following Brentford, I get more miles out of the tank, by filling up at a BP or Shell, than a Tescos or Asdas.

This is my FACT !

They keep the best grade petrol, and give the cheaper stuff to the supermarkets

This may not be a FACT !

I no longer need to own a car, but if you REALLY want to know how much you motorists are being ripped off, just keep tabs on the daily price of a barrel of crude oil.

Down over 60% in three months.

Thats how much you're being ripped off.

Mind you - The Chancellor with the dodgy eyebrows takes most of it.

The main difference between the major brands and the supermarkets is in the additives that are put in the petrol. The major brands add various things to prolong engine life, keep the fuel system clean, improve combustion, etc., which the supermarkets don't add. If you buy supermarket petrol you can get the same effect by using one of the additives available, such as STP, but then you are paying more than for the major brand petrol.

88.9 for unleaded seems to be the average price for most stations.
I did see an esso station on the a127 at 86.5p a litre
could go down in the 70's bracket by mid jan if rumours are true
