The FA Cup

Congratulations to the two remaining SSML Premier Division Club's for securing home FA Cup 2nd Qualifying Round ties, Aylesbury Vale against Gosport Borough and Chalfont St Peter against Team Bath. Here is the full draw seeing how nobody else has bothered to post it today:

There is no reason at all why Kentish Town shouldn't be looking forward to a home FA Cup 2nd Qualifying Round tie against Ilkeston Town on 27 September, what an opportunity wasted thanks to mis-Management.

Unc - These are Kentish Town's results since the infamous 2-0 defeat at Wellingborough, 25 goals in six games, five wins and a draw. I'm merely asking the question why they were unable to beat a very mediocre looking Wellingborough Town side:

Wellingborough Town v Kentish Town 2-0

Broxbourne Borough v Kentish Town 4-6

Haringey Borough v Kentish Town 0-4

Holmer Green v Kentish Town 1-3

Kentish Town v Brimsdown Rovers 1-1

Kentish Town v Caddington 5-1

Cockfosters v Kentish Town 2-6

thanks tiger007, i read some of the reports that said you had the majority of the play both games, but just one goal in 3 hours.

looks like you have addressed that in the games since, well done.

would you say its just one of those things, have Kentish signed anyone or were wellingboro better defensively than the sides youve played since.

thanks rhodes for putting up the scores, six away from home twice is quite something.

The Spurs Fan - Apparently they should have scored a hatful against Brimsdown too and beaten them comfortably, it's certainly a mystery how they didn't sweep aside Wellingborough Town with virtually the same squad of players although to be fair the occasion may have got to them a bit as there was a lot made of the Club being in the FA Cup for the first time. Wellingborough were poor and basically just kicked everything that moved, going by the reports on their Website and Forum they couldn't believe they got through only to get beat anyway by 'the mighty' Croydon Athletic.

That fact is Spurs fan, that when we reached the finalthird of the pitch, we were unable to find that killer pass, im sure that if we had scored first in that home leg we would have gone on and won the match, but it as not meant to be our day, thats football and the beauty of the FA Cup. It had nothing to do with the occasion getting to the players. And since that match we have changed the style in which we play and it seems to have worked.
