According to "official" who speaks for the club on their forum he was the first choice of their manager as first team coach

Somehow I doubt he was first choice

But if he ends up in the role we can all expect the usual aggressive verbal and gamesmanship tactics he has always employed

Strange really Canv with all the moves Hornchurch were making to be well received into the premier league and they have chosen as coach the one man who will go a long way in ensuring they are big in the we hate you stakes

You really don't like George Borg do you Pabird?!

Almost every post that you've written this morning is anti-Borg!! Mind you I can't blame you, I don't like the guy either, and when I saw him at the Bryco Final he looked a sly old git!!

It goes back to watching him perform at Shots when they played Billericay

Ricay and Shots had a rocky session between fans and both clubs were attempting to play it down and get back to normal? relations

The bad situations included a knifing just to clarify how serious the situation had become

At Shots home game GB did every thing in his power in the warm up session and during the game to aggrevate the situation

For that game with Mabird and the parents of another Ricay player we sat in the stands and as GB pulled his little strokes so the atmosphere worsened

It was all very unpleasant and since that day I have watched GB on many occassions and really do not believe a club builds for a healthy future seeking to employ him

Hmm I know football can be frustrating for Managers at times and they do get stressed, but that guy is just foul!

Hurling abuse at Players will not make them pick their game up, just make then disheartened and un-interested...

Anyway I'm off the invade the Kettering Forum...

I found their webb site on google search under kettering town but they do not appear to have a forum

Following is an interesting note from their webb site

12/05/2003 : KETTERING TO PLAY IN THE RYMAN PREMIER LEAGUE

Kettering Town will be playing in the Ryman Premier League next season.

Early last week a call from the Football Association suggested the most likely result would be for the Dr Martens Premier League to be extended to 23 Clubs and accommodate both Nuneaton Borough and Kettering Town.

A further call however on Thursday from the Football Association’s Mike Appleby was made to Rockingham Road to see if we would move into the Ryman Premier League. A hastily convened board meeting resulted in the club agreeing to do so.

Chairman Peter Mallinger said today “We always knew it was a possibility and so had considered what our approach would be if it were offered to us. Talking to colleagues in the game there was a feeling the Ryman League might not be quite such a tough nut to crack as the Dr Martens. We considered the option and decided to follow a similar path to that which Burton did by moving into the Unibond and we all know what happened after that. We are not kidding ourselves as we know there will be no easy games and we haven’t forgotten what happened two seasons ago when we lost to Purfleet in the FA Trophy. The travelling will be easier although those who enjoyed the coastal venues for a long weekend will be disappointed. On the other hand several supporters have already said they like the idea as they will get to see more away games with the bulk of the Ryman clubs bordering the M25.”

you've gotta give us the chance pabird...like my alter ego Official says.....there is a long term view......

all I will say is that you must judge our football club as you find it ...not on the historical events that you post with regard to George Borgs antics elsewhere....

our merry band of home and travelling supporters are well behaved......we always go out of our way to make people feel at home at the ol' Stadium....we can do no more....

looks like.......

Borg is coming so lets wait and see what happens....I think that Marsden can handle him.......

there is one thing for sure.....any antics not representing HFC in the way that it needs representing will be dealt with real quick....make no mistake......there are a few strong minded people around here and they won't put up with histrionics.....

you have got the wrong idea about jonah...yeah he's vocal but has been superb all year...no trouble...never argues...always on time....never moans when not playing....

you should have seen him against Wivenhoe....he was actually in their dugout arguing with the ref about a decision that had gone against them....brilliant.....

as for strong minds.....well....you don't know this but I do.....only one winner..... <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

I found their Forum through the conference forums that the Shots are now on. The long way around is to go to your Favourites and if you have it click on Shotsweb a list of conference team forums is displayed top of page, hope that makes sense!
