Hello BlackburnClaret,

I still have fond memories of the game at Burnley, and still have the Burnley scarf one of your supporters kindly gave me.

Obviously we made a terrible start to the season. We lost several players through retirement, or other coaching jobs at clubs (Tilson, Stimson) and the new players that were brought in just didn't gel.

It took until Christmas to sort things out (we were knocked out of the FA Cup by Slough at the 4thQR stage) but after that we began to look awesome in games.

Lee Boylan who scored our goal against Burnley has been brilliant this season scoring nearly 50 goals and Jeff Minton has been a revelation in midfield.

Unfortunately Aldershot failed to slip up and our bad start cost us dearly. Yesterday we lost in the Ryman League Cup final which was really dissapointing but considering the start we made, it's not been a bad season.

If we had made the Conference this year, you could have watched us at Accrington but hopefully next year with a couple of signings we'll achieve promotion and hopefully have another great run in the cup.

All the best for next season and hope Burnley can get into the Premier League eventually!

started, bad

got ok

then it good really rather good

then there were a few mishaps

then we recovered for a final push

then aldershot dicked us

then it was over and got a bit average

then we lost to local rivals

then we scored a ludicrous amount of goals

then we lost the league cup with a pony display...

ultimatly disapointing but interspersed with some quality stuff..expectations were a bit too high after changes from last seasons squad.. i think we are well placed to do similar or maybe even better next season..

how was it at turf moor this season? shame blackburn didnt get relegated ... ;-)

I wouldn't mind a friendly against Canvey at canvey (nice excuse to see the bird) and sure they would be a few goals.

Another thing we released 13 players end of this season i wouldnt be surprised if at least 1 ended up in the ryman league a couple of youngesters let go plus players like Paul Cook and Andy Payton.

On the subject of that FA Cup match i have fond memories of walkin the pub after the game and 3 canvey fans there proping up the bar all night, good night that esspecially that 1 out of the 3 was actually a west ham season ticket holder (granted the other 2 were 'proper' canvey fans) does that sound like any of you lot?????????????

Slightly moving away from this topic, I'd like to thank Stan Ternant and Burnley for my success on last seasons Championship Manager!

After Burnley knocked Fulham out of the FA Cup, I used the same formation as Burnley used on the night and won everything for the next two seasons!!

Cheers guys!!

Rudi got sent home over a month ago.

He didn't really set the world on fire down here and the Club had players that could do his job already. Rudi went back to Finland to hopefully join a new Club in time for their new season which starts this month.
