how shallow can we footie fans be at times....a club that was almost dead and buried 7 years ago with 50 supporters has enjoyed 6 years of success with many trophies and some great cup days out....great glory days out that should live with all true urchins for many a year...even this season a great fa cup run and that heroic performance against peterborough in front of 4000 fans at the bridge....heady old days and never dreamed of 7 years ago...and yes before its mentioned..we got stuffed and relegated three leagues...that was more fun than connie south and if you don't believe that you aint a real urchin and should be supporting chelsea..

 

this season has been a difficult one....several sponsors no longer paying for the privilege of supporting the club as the crunch bites throughout the land and a decision to reduce wages made at the beginning of the season....that decision delayed whilst still in the fa cup and even now the full reduction needed not yet in place...therefore the deficit built up whilst still in the cup and the cost of staging the posh game and the resulting bills outstanding more than gobbled up the cup money...anyone with half a brain or understanding of NL footie would know that...sadly we do have a few on here with less than half a brain...

 

our manager spending more time helping to look for funds than managing a team and also working on a very small squad now beset by injury...the same manager who turned down a conf south club last week to stay with us....the same manager who I had a cuppa with today and had a healthy chat with and who sees the future as I do....tight for dosh but very positively...the same manager who is quietly working with me to bring in a big national sponsor which is much advanced and yet sadly the same manager who has to read all of this crap on here...he had 12 fit players yesterday for chrissake.....he's good but he's not that good that he can keep pulling rabbits out of hats on a shoestring and with such a small squad!

 

colin and I had a chinese together three years ago and mapped out what we wanted for our club...we were just promoted from the ESL and needed a manager after JL had left us...we have achieved all we set out to achieve and more so...at that time we still owed around 200k from the connie south/relegation fandango.. we now don't owe a fraction of that and have won many trophies at all levels....I find it real hard to find anything negative about that at all but each to their own I suppose......

 

kevin69 who hides behind his false name and anoniminity to libel decent people who work hard and have done for 7 years for the club as well as putting considerable amounts of money into its coffers...fans who should know better gobbing off after losing a game and unsettling other fans with nonsense and negative gossip...whinging about 2 pints of beer costing a fiver...what difference does it make if the beer comes from a can or a bottle or a pump...its still beer and we are the last club or folk to rip anyone off...our fans enjoy hospitality and comfort which is the envy of non league clubs throughout the ryman leagues...I am disappointed in that particular post to be honest...what does that have to do with saturdays game and the comments about tips of icebergs are way off....there are no underlying problems at our club other than the normal NL way of life...financially harsh and working all hours...perhaps you have all forgotten the bad old days...or were they the good old days ?...

 

and then of course we have fans who still owe the club money gobbing off on here about players wage reductions..might help if everyone paid up on time including weymouth who still owe us 5 grand...if that was us we would be suspended by now.....come on guys....double standards or what.?

 

we lost a game of football and now we..the very people that have given our all for this club and dug deep when we couldn't really afford to do so... are all berated as thieves and the end is nigh....fck me guys get real and breathe some real time air....if you can't stand losing don't support a football club.....I never heard any whinging when we mugged ricay in the ESC game...real fans know that the twin imposters are the same...

 

the kevin69's of this world are not true urchin fans with their fake email addies that are so transparent its laughable and the real fans that cannot take a poor performance and a defeat should be more responsible in their forum posts...

 

things are tight at all clubs and that includes ours...we have no god given right to win everything and every game and pay big wages to our players or have wealthy sponsors on board..those days are past and we have to compete on a level playing field....those that help the club a little here and there are pleased to do so and much appreciated by us all but who the fck wants to read threads like the one that was locked today with all that crap in it...crikey who needs friends around here eh...

 

we are always looking for new sponsors and new ways of funding ambition and success but sponsors are attracted to vibrancy and positivity... not whinging grumpy fans bitching on forums...I sponsor Hx and anymore sh1te aimed at those that run the club and its teams will certainly make me think twice about continuing to support a cause that is thankless....in 7 years I have never felt that and hope that I never do...that's in your hands so think on before posting please...

 

now lets see some real time support here guys and lets get behind our club and our team and stop all of this whinging bollox....every fan is entitled to a view on their team etc and that's what these forums are for...they are NOT for anonymous and snide attacks on your own club and its loyal people that work hard for you all..

 

we lost a game of football on saturday...get over it and get on with it....!!

Make you right Karl, I'll probably get accused of brown tongueing it but who gives a feck. I know better than most how close this club was to going under some years ago. Yes it has been a roller coaster but at least we are still on the tracks.

I appreciate you coming on and making the points that you have. My biggest concern in recent times has been the squad getting smaller as players seemingly up and leave and the injuries to important players like Simon Parker.

It will be a massive boost to the club if you can secure new sponsorship for the team and I imagine that in the current economic climate, it's not an easy task.

hasbeen..you are strong enough to withstand peer pressure from barrack room club chairmen who talk too much... do too little and would run a mile if they had to do a hapeth of what we do...

 

nut chutney...colin has tried to make the small budget realise quality and not quantity...I will have a fiver with anyone that we make the play offs and or a cup final...(mind you I bought a horse once thats still running )

Hear hear Karl, Hornchurch is a great little club and Urchins old and new should be proud of it, as I am. I have had more pleasure supporting Hornchurch this season than I could possibly tell you all. I have seen how hard a little group of people work to make the whole thing happen, with very little reward except the triumphs that sometimes happen along the way (and for me, Weymouth was the BEST game I have ever been to )

i give my support to hornchurch ,to colin and all staff who make our games happen each week whatever the results do you guys and girls out there think its any rosier at chelsea ,west ham ,arsenal they all lose games , and there supporters all pick the team in there head, but they dont leave the club when results dont go for them everyone is entitled to their oppinion but remember our players turn up every game and try their best we win some we lose some thats entertainment who wants to win 38 games a season OUR clubhouse cellers aint big enough for all that champers so im happy the at our position at this time of the season could make the playoffs might get promoted may get a cup as well still in the mix as they say not that bad me thinks ...

Another reason for the perceived unrest from supporters is that for a few years now we've seen some great things at our club. Promotions, Cups, enforced relegation followed by promotions and some FA Cup exploits to live in the memory.

I can remember watching the Urchins in the 70s and 80s when we got crowds of around 50 and we were just making up the numbers in the league.

Now we are contenders and regularly punch above our weight and that can lead to an attitude of expectancy from the fans which at times can be unrealistic.

I had the chance to go and see Arsenal play Plymouth on Saturday but I turned it down so I can be at our game instead.

i agree with most of whats on here.Obviously fans like to see the players give 100%,we all know this is not the best tine financially and sponsors are pulling out of football clubs and other business in general willy nilly.I dont think any true urchin fan would believe some of the crap that kevin 69 puts on here or the other chancers who come on the forum from the likes of romturd and obviously from time to time we get ex players who feel they have been treated harshly because we have got rid of them to enable us to progress through the leagues like we have the last few years.On our day,with our first x1 we are a match for anyone and quite possibly the best side in the league,we have beaten dover,weymouth,bromley etc etc and that is what the side is caable of,but there have been games where we have been woeful and i am sure that upsets the managment,board and fans alike.What i would like to see a return to this season is the fanatical support on the eastside like it has been in the past years.

On the night we beat ricay it was a joke with sections argueing amongst theirselves and the songs resorting to chorus' of ra ra ra ra ra,without any words,that just makes us look stupid and it continued in to the tooting game.I know its a laugh,but in all honesty singing monging noises is not getting behind the team.
