Are these the voices of descent as Aldershot fans believe it will be yet another season in this league?? I wasn't at Chesham yesterday so I can't comment on that game, although playing for 45 mintues with an outfield player in goal and then conceding an injury time winner suggests that it wasn't our day!<p>My gut feeling is that we won't go up this year because our away form is not consistent enough (we have already lost at Grays, Sutton and now Chesham), although I think that the current squad is the best we've had. The fact is that we have yet to mount even a serious championship challenge in the three years since we were promoted into the Premier League, I hope that we can do that this year.<p>I would put your money on Canvey this year.<p> <img src="graemlins/diabolo.gif" border="0" alt="" />

The game is all about opinions isn't it??<p>The bone of contention in the game was about a challenge on Howells by Wayne Andrews. I felt it was legit and the keeper fell awkwardly, others cried foul, Andrews was cautioned.<p>The game had lots of odd moments, The referee substituting himself, Howells and Bentley doing a striptease to Bentley to get kitted up. All I can say is Mark Bentley looks a lot more assured than mad Les Cleevley.<p>I think shots didn't really look an attacking threat. But I did speak to one of the people who scouted the shots and saw them play Hitchin. They thought that if you could contain them in midfield then hit them on the break you could win it, they were right.

So Steve, we're finished before Xmas when only 4 points off the top ?<p>Maybe, but if we can obtain some consistency away from home we'll still have a good chance.<p>I note your comments on the shots board, but it seems yet again from others there it was a victory greeted with the glee that normally is shown when your team has actually won a trophy.<p>Why is this ?<p>Would the same happen when you beat the likes of Canvey & Gravesend ?

Chris, I don't dismiss your chances of winning the league anymore than your own fans do. I said I felt Canvey were a stronger team. Facts are facts though, you're 4 points off the top, which you can easily recover, you're certainly not dead yet. <p>Equally you are not the best team I've seen us play this season, I would say both Canvey and Grays played a great deal better than you.<p>In terms of reaction, I think our emotions were heightened with the last minute goal. I felt that some of our team members were inciteful and that's very regrettable. As a fan I felt the brunt of this reaction when several shots fans were passing me, saying "it's like you won the FA Cup or something".<p>I doubt you will understand this, but when Aldershot visit, it's like you are playing away, you feel the odds are stacked against you. again that makes winning feel like more of an achievement. <p>I know that one of our fans has been on the site and been less than complimentary. I think a number of our fans felt a bit provoked when shots fans were shouting at our team 'cheats' and 'you're acting like you've won the league' at the end, I know their entitled to their opinion but it's hardly sporting is it? I felt victimised just for applauding my team.<p>Would the same happen if we beat Canvey of GNFC, probably not. But then you'd have to ask the players, not the fans<p>

So you lost to the mighty Harrow Borough, no wonder your lot think you will run away with the Premier League.

At least we lost to Grays, Gravesend, Chesham, and some other 'fly by night' team and are still 3rd inspite of that.

We are the REAL BTFC, having beaten Billericay, Basingstoke, and Bedford it shows that they are just pretenders to our title.

Beat Billericay with very negative tactics.

How long does it take for your players to make up their minds about who should take a throw in.

I counted 2 minutes at one point. How many players behind the ball for all of the second half. I counted 11.<p>If you want to go and boast about the result and are quite happy about the style in which you beat Billericay then fine. I prefer to watch a team that plays attractive football.<p>Gamesmanship may get you the result but it certainly don't win friends.<p>And you have yet to play Billericay at New Lodge. So lets not get too cockey.
