I don't think we could have accepted without a manager to agree to the proposition! Its nothing personal- no other games seem to have been fixed.

A likely story eh sunshine . More like you couldn't stand the thought of getting the season underway with a defeat . Steve Whittington's offer was made in good faith and probabley a gesture of goodwill to improve relations . On reading the thread started by our bloke you people appeared to show interest in the Idea . So a fans owned club has this thrown out by the cliquey clan who have decided and acted on it for you Hah! , not surprising for me at all . Seems to me you lot just pay youre annual tenner and have to keep youre traps shut , But whats new there eh Steph grin.Time you lot rose up and revolted against the cliquey clan and tell them WHAT YOU WANT NOT WHAT THEY WANT .Its their club Is it really youres ? I'm just glad I walked when I did at the basildon match .

So are we,my friend.SO ARE WE! dancingman

With regard to requesting a match with us.Would have been nice, and would have been what most Town fans would have wanted, but it was not to be.Maybe now, those at your club can get a sense of what its like to have a pleasent enquiry turned down by the other side. We've had that on serveral occasions with 1893 in the past. Regarding closer ties and exploritary requests for dialogue..etc.

Looking at your friendlies.Have to say that they are not the most exciting or imaginative of fixtures.Ware/Brox/Brimo..well i suppose it saves the fixtures Sec having to contact anyone he doesn't already know.
Good luck next season anyway.Fully expect you to win the ESL with a canter his time,if you keep hold of your management team.

I'm pleased that the offer wasn't refused out of hand. Have you offered any alternative dates?

I offerd two dates the only two we can play at home after being told you only have one game arranged by someone on your committee, obviously they were wrong, we would be willing to come to you but no offer was made for that so we will just get on with our pre season without the game both sets of fans wanted.

MAYBE THE TOWN MOB JUST DONT WANT THEIR FANS TO SEE THE IMPROVEMENTS CURRENTLY GOING ON. A NICE LITTLE VENUE IS STARTING TO TAKE SHAPE AT GOFFS LANE. IF THEY COME ALONG SOME MIGHT JUST STICK AROUND .

THANKS TO THE BLOKE THATS PAINTING UP THE CLUBHOUSE . A GREAT JOB .

Ron.
1, Don't SHOUT.
2, Why would Town fans be excited by a lower league ground, shared by two lower league teams, when they will soon have the QE Stadium to watch their football at ?

Good Luck next season - you "should" walk the ESL.

Personally, I don't see any point in playing 1893 in a friendly away. We would not benefit from gate receipts or the bar and we should be playing friendlies at a higher level than against step 5 teams.

To be fair,i think they said they would be willing to play it at our ground if a date could be found for that.
