Kings Lynn and Cammell Laird have been relegated to Step 3 and Step 4 respectively.

The FA dismissed appeals from both Kings Lynn FC and Cammell Laird FC at a hearing in Derby on Thursday.

Both clubs were appealing against relegation under ground grading rules and the result means that Kings Lynn will be playing in Step 3 next season while Cammell Laird have been demoted to Step 4.

The 2009-10 National League System structure will be announced by The FA on 29 May.

Unibond for them please! smile

  • 5 months later...

So a team that get relegated due to the ground improvement that were required not being done. Not our fault says Chairman the council will do them, but 12 months after going to do them still not done.

Tax bill to be paid by somebody else, not done.

Were does all the money go from the VERY good attendances that Lynn get, having read the above article all I can say is glad he is not our Chairman.

I do feel sorry for the fans up there in North Norfolk, not much else to do there.

Maybe they have some players going begging we could move in on?

I have no insider knowledge of what went on at the time, but I remember several people saying that the club were assuming the council would bail them out, to be fair to Charles Well's they gave the club ample warning that they wanted the ground (which was their's all along) and nothing ever got sorted out.

I did at the time see the plans the club had drawn up for the Stadium at Barkers Lane. This did not go ahead due to objections from local residence, usual crap, noise violance unsocial behaviour etc. The way some people carried on you would have thought that Old Trafford was being put on their doorstep with Liverpool the visitors twice a day seven days a week.

How ironic that they ended up with the magabowl and associated night club and a maccie dds in the vacinity and all the crap noise violance and unsocial behaviour that came with that.

FD (Mark2) is a 100% BTFC fan that comes to a lot of games that spends his hard earnt money on watching the eagles home and when he can make them also away from home and he just doesn't like King's Lynn!! - if you actually new the person you might see where he is coming from, - their fans have been very nasty towards our fans in the past!.

Oh, sorry, that makes it alright then, what are we like eh?

Yours is yet another completely stupid post, look, if every club we all dislike falls by the wayside then where's the competition? Where's the rivalry? Where's the banter? We'd all like leagues full of only the clubs we like 'cause that would make for a really exciting time wouldn't it. The demise of a fellow non-league club is something we should all mourn and sympathise with. Leave the smug remarks to those Premiership sheep. Forget the playground analysis of some of there fans behaviour and (we know this might be difficult) just try looking at the bigger picture.

To smirk at someone else's misfortune, that's really poor.

Can't say I'm overly disappointed...

That's a truly pathetic comment, it's tragic when any club goes under, especially a non-league outfit. You sound like a 'supporter' of a Mega-Corp FC with a comment lie that.

Football is a business. Why do the majority of football fans believe that football clubs, which even at Bedford's level, are still businesses, should be exempt from the same economic rules and constraints as any other business? If they are poorly managed and run without financial prudence then they deserve to fall by the wayside. Sure it is sad for the fans of that club, but why should we shed tears for them?

It is for that reason, that for all his unpopularity, I actually think our chairman is doing a sound jo, and is not trying to run the club beyond it's means. It is quite true that with their fan base, and those admission prices, KLFC should have been able to survive, and whilst I am not in possession of all the facts, it appears that their chairman was derelict in his duty. We should be thankful that we do not face the same fate.

Because we're first and foremost football fans, lovers of the game and without competition we have no sport. Yours point of view is worryingly very tribal and without support and a concerted effort, by all fans, when clubs get into trouble, then the well run clubs such as Bedford Town may well have nobody to play against in years to come and all that sensible, prudent, housekeeping will have been very much wasted.

There is very much a time for bravado and terrace talk (usually during a match) but the serious business of the state of the game and the fact some many smaller clubs are dying on there feet (for whatever reason) should be of grave concern to any knowledgeable, sensible and thoughtful fan of our national sport.

The comment was simply senseless.

And so is bailing out poorly run clubs! The pyramid system is alive and very healthy, so there is always another well run club ready and willing to fill the shoes of Kings Lynn; Canvey Island; Hornchurch; Merthyr.... ad infinitum.

It's a case of Survival of the Fittest. Sad though it may be, the runts of the litter have to go to ensure the survival of the rest.

Our last word. Football is about fans, is it right that they should suffer because a club is poorly run? You'll agree that our banks and other financial institutions are also poorly run, is it fair our hard earned cash, pensions and other investments should suffer? No, of course not! Those responsible for the apparent failure at Kings Lynn, or any other club, should be the ones made to suffer not the community the club serves and the fans whose only act is to turn up support the team and be part of something which is so obviously close to there hearts. Your ancient views seem to endorse the fact that it's perfectly acceptable that those who have no power whatsoever in the financial or administrative aspects of a club, deserve to lose something that is central to their lives.

The runts are arguably in the boardroom of many clubs and it's only them who should suffer and not the players, communities, or most importantly the supporters they've failed. If you can't agree with that then we honestly despair.

Well yes up to a point Mike, but supporters can always do something about it if they try hard enough though cant they.

Someone decribed Merthyr as a failed club higher up the thread. In fact, if you look behind the scenes, the fans have over a long period prepared themselves to step in because they could see it was basket case in the making. They held on to their money because they couldnt trust the boss. When the Chairman finally bowed to the inevitable, they were there and up for it.

Despite having to manage the pennies fairly severely at the moment, they look like they're about to pass us in the league.
