Quite right PA Bird ! HOWEVER, digging for badgers IS NOW illegal, yet we all know it still goes on ! We had a spate of it here on The North Downs a few years ago. We are back to the Pikey element on this one. Lots of cash change hands in this, so called 'sport'. At least magistrates are handing down custodial sentences to some of those that are found guilty.

The Hare coursers use the excuse that most of the hares escape ! So What ???

We have one of the largest 'hunts' in the South East a few miles down the road towards Sussex. The Surrey Union Hunt. They always try to present themselves as 'responsible', yet a few years ago, they managed to kill some cats all in one day, allegedly !.

 

A mate of mine was driving down a country lane on the Surrey/Sussex border a couple of years ago and stopped to let a huntsman on horse cross from one side of the road to the other.

 

The guy in the red clowns suit, doffed his cap and thanked my mate profusely, to which said mate replied.

 

"I was letting the horse cross the road, not YOU, you c**t !!!"
