Canvey Island 0 - 3 Dag & Red

And up until now nobody has mentioned that if it was a competitive game their keeper would have been sent off midway through the first half, they missed that off the report on the daggers website as well which is strange!

I believe it would be good if Buzz came back. We suffer without Wardy’s pace at the back when he is not there to get us out of trouble, so Buzz would be good cover. As mentioned by Ronin, he played some crackers for us. I’m sure he isn’t the first player to be misled or tried to look after himself. All that counts at the end of the day is if he can do the job on the pitch for us.

Just wondering why we haven’t scored yet. That’s the difference sometimes with higher league teams that they can put the ball in the net. Remember Burnley, two chances in the first half and they scored from both.

Can’t see YA2003s problem with Duffy shooting. He has been guilty in the past in not having a go when he could have. Seen him unlock defences and unleash shots which result in something.

We should take a leaf out of Aldershot’s book. Their defence hardly let our midfield and forwards get any where near the penalty area without bringing them down, or was it assault on occasions?

First it was Hull, Northern Monkeys taking the piss out of us Southern Fairies and our Essex slums. Now I just visit DiggerDagger.com and the first/second paragraph of the report slags off our pitch!! Lighten up arseholes!!!

bothered about the daggers.. since our first season in the ryman they have thrown wobblers about our ground .. we all know its sunday pub standard and we like it that way.. their is nothing wrong with our pitch .. it may have some extra sand early in the season but at least it lasts the distance.. i used to want the daggers to do well but after all the bleating i couldnt help but find myself midly amused about the boston affair and was glad the big club won in last seasons play offs.. i dont know why they moan about grounds n such, maybe its a thing that all 'plastic' clubs formed from mergers have

Well it was only our 2nd friendly so sharpness hasn't really kicked back in yet. I reckon Saturday will be the REAL game for the lads.

Gooden, Berquez, Boylan & Midgley all could've scored on Tuesday and Gregors against Hull.

I have to agree that their Goalkeeper, (Pullen I think it was) did pull of some good saves, but both Goalkeepers I think would've walked if it had been a competetive match. Trouble is if you get sent-off in Pre-Season you miss the first 3 League games of the season so Ref's don't want to be strict, (plus Managers like to have a little word before the game) and get anyone in any trouble...

Bring On The Shrimpers!!!!

I have noticed with all the good Conference sides we have played that on very few occassions do they out football us, we look the more entertaining side

But

They have all been 4-4-2 and tightly organised, Where they all look better than us is in individual strength on the ball and their average tackle ability across the team gains a higher average rate of success in ball winning

And the clearest difference is the way each player knows his job in the side

O!K not always pretty to watch and in a one off game we mostly stand an excellent chance of winning, But across a seasons efforts??

Back to the buzz situation.....I heard a certain club in Basildon were interested in duffy and that would leave space for buzz if he left.

Personnally Duffers really annoys me....he make such good runs to get behind the defence, then when he recieves the ball he always always cuts inside and if he does place a cross first time, it's always of a poor quality.

Sometimes he does produce, but n where near as much as he used to.

I agree Duffy's main problem is that he has to cut inside no matter what side he's on. He's two footed, but is played mostly on the left. When he's on the left, he has to cut inside to cross with his right foot. When he's on the right he has to cut inside to cross with his left foot!! His first touch isn't the best, so he must prefer to cut inside. Where I think he should keep going in a straight line and cross with the foot matching the side he's playing on. Something I notice Midgley is able to do...

Duffy`s best spell for us is when he played c/mid, every game he would have a crack from at least 25 yards and normally on target. I do think it would be a mistake to let him go because while his crossing may be letting him down at the moment who else at the club is capable of getting in those positions in the first place. I thought that Ty and Duffers were working very well together 2nd half tuesday, it reminded me of when Tilly was playing on the left dinking balls over the top for Duffers to run on to and cross. Unless there is to be another new signing in that position i can`t see him losing his place.

dont be silly people.. imagine duffers running at our defence playing for riccay or harlow.. sorry bishops.. or any other ryman team.. he is a good player .. very good..

pa. as usual gets its spot on.. they play rugby we play football..

top conf and top 6 ryman sides play a disciplined defensive team game ans score on the break..

persoanlly i'd rather watch the gulls win or lose..

No-one is denying Gooden's ability Brentmeister!

Going on the past two performances I would definately keep Duffy in the side. He does do defence splitting runs etc. I said his only let down was his in-ability to cross a ball first time without having to cut inside...I think if he practised that constantly in training non-stop just simple first touch crossing then he would become a great player again.

Gooden could have had a hattrick last night.

How many chances do you need!? (I am referring as a team and not just Gooden).

Shut it LMU! Otherwise I'll have to give you a slap when I see you!
