Was that fun or was that fun.all over Southend like a cheap suit in the first half, and still making chances in the second half despite being closed down and despite the bully boy tactics.Still their players took it well, didn,t they?(not)

This just has to be done even if it's only a friendly!

"Stan Collymore, Chris Powell, Brett Angell, Peter Taylor, Barry Fry, Steve Wignall, can you hear me Steve Wignall? Your boys took one hell of a beating!!!!"

1-0 to the Canvey boys!! Gulls eat Shrimpers!! <img src="/images/graemlins/cool.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/images/graemlins/cool.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/images/graemlins/cool.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/images/graemlins/cool.gif" alt="" />

Well, what a match! We outfought them, outpassed them and outsung them!

Great performances by Ben Chenery (an amazing kamikaze block to deny a certain goal) and Gavin Cowan.

Minton and Gooden excelled in midfield whilst Boylan and Midgley ran and worked hard all afternoon (Midgley looks a great signing!)

Duffers certainly proved his critics wrong with a good steady performance.

Great atmosphere especially near the end when it all kicked off on the pitch. Haven't heard the 'Yellow Army' chant for ages but that was brilliant at the end with everybody chanting and most of the Southend fans leaving early. I think the players appreciated our support by their reaction at the end in applauding the fans.

May only be a pre season friendly but this means a lot. We've got a great season ahead and let's hope we can keep this level of performance up.

Top result! Even though my lot took a bit of a pasting score-wise today (GNFC 1-5 Gillingham) we'll hopefully put out a side resembling our first 11 on Thursday and give you lot a game. Sounds like Canvey's really getting it together this pre-season so I'm certainly looking forward to it even though it's only a friendly. Whatever happens, just give us bloody Boylan!

May 2004, Villa Park(?),Trophy Final, G&NFC v CIFC. Bring it on!!! <img src="/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

Love it!

5-1? Good God, we've got the Gills on Tuesday!!! <img src="/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />

Also looking forward to the G+N match, especially after today's game - it was a cracker! Best I've seen since our win at your place I reckon!!

Can't have Boylan this season I'm afraid unless you're willing to pay for him! I wouldn't accept anything less than 1/2 a million! <img src="/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

Where's the Gills game, at your place?

As you've reminded me about 'that' game, I'll just mention we're all coming over with 10p's for your electricity meter!!!

Yes the Gillingham game is at Park Lane.

I wouldn't worry about the Floodlights the fuse box which was of course the fault of the problem at our 2-0 loss has been fixed. <img src="/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

Only joking, old chap!!
Might take a wander over the river on Tuesday evening. Could be a good game. I know Gills put out a strong squad against us (at 1-5 I bloody hope so!) so expect no mercy. Nosworthy,(spell-check?) a defender I believe, scored for them again which is starting to be a bit of a habit by all accounts. Well, they ARE 1st division, after all.

Yes I'm looking forward to all three of our games this week. Gills - Tuesday, G+N - Thursday & Slough - Saturday.

Should be good considering we have their old Winger Ty Gooden, (scored his first goal for us today! <img src="/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />)

If we keep it to 4 or 5 against Gillingham, then we'd have been bloody lucky and ready to take this League full on in the face!! <img src="/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />
