Canvey Island -Vs- Gillingham

Recommended Posts

After the excitement from yesterday's friendly at Roots Hall, I think we'll be brought back down the Earth with a bump on Tuesday when we entertain Gillingham at Park Lane (K.O. 7:30pm)

Gillingham beat Gravesend & Northfleet 5-1 yesterday, so I'm expecting around about the same scoreline for us!

Prediction

CIFC 2 - 4 GFC

Boylan & Midgley (hopefully)

Att: 480-ish

Starting XI

4-4-2.

_____________- Potter -

- Chenery - Theobald - Cowan - Duffy -

- Kennedy - Bennett - Minton - Gooden -

________- Midgley - Boylan -

If the gills play like they did agaist southend then i think were in for a chance. But as u say they beat Gravesend & Northfleet 5-1 so who knows. Be good 2 c Ty out against his old club and the way hes been playin recently i could c him scoreing. I predict a fair 2-2 draw with Midgley & Gooden on the scoresheet.

I can not see anyone shoveing 5 past us, not saying we will thump them but there are a number of things in our favour.

We will be up for it.

Coming of the back of Saturdays result and they have had a bit of unrest recently.

They have also played some games that are basically training sessions the football we play will be a bit different for them.

One or two of ours wlllwant to put on a display to be noticed by league opposition.

I predict 2-1 to them 1-1 if Danny Potter gets a full game.

Is it me or do we look stronger when he is in goal

Watch out for Nosworthy. He seems to be scoring for fun recently. Fleet had around 10 new players and trialists on the pitch on Saturday so scoring wasn't too much of a problem for Gills against an experimental side but if you put out a settled team, I reckon you might, just might, make them sweat and even get a result of some description. We were doing ok in the first half but they just upped it a couple of gears & wallop, good night Vienna! They are professionals, don't forget.

UPDATE

Ty Gooden could miss tonight's game after 'tweaking' his groin at Roots Hall.

Chris Duffy is likely to miss tonight's fixture after injuring his knee (Could make way for Damon Searle!!)

But David Theobald has recovered from and ankle injury.

All this was on the Evening Echo website along with this:-

Theobald is likely to complete his permanent move to Park Lane this week!!!!
