In the Conference, it seems like ALL the defenders are bloody big! Our potential strike force this season measures about 6'5" standing on each others' shoulders (all four of 'em!) Maybe there's a new tactic involved...er, football?. ball to feet?.. Anyway, at least we scored!! 0-7, oh dear, oh dear... <img src="/images/graemlins/whistling.gif" alt="" />

Well - Good to see Buzz back, will he get slated or greeted ?

Scoreline says it all, I thought this was more of a warm down match for us, after such a superb performance on Saturday. Why the hell are we playing 4 games in 7 days ? By the time we get to the start of the season all the guys will need a rest!

Laugh! I nearly fell out of my cardboard box!

Misplaced confidence?

Nah, you came up against real opposition still you got well beaten by the Daggers too.

Oh Dear. Back to the drawing boards my friends as you are nowhere near ready for the conference with your team of has-beens!

We'll see how you do against a decent team southender...?

Now quick get back to your spot underneath the bridge in the high street - before the big issue man takes your pitch!

HURRY, HURRY - STOCK CLEARANCE
5 year old Nike Air trainers and 3 year old Kappa tracksuits now on sale in Southend. Get in quick before all the Kosovans get there!

We have played "Decent" teams apart from Canvey and only lost by one goal to Gillingham.

Still you have the joy of Gravesend next so I believe.

"Who let the Abbey out? Who? Who? Who?"

Beware the SUFC crew will be watching this result with interest.

Ha ha ha beaten by Non - League pikies! As you so delicately describe us.

Now get yourself some class and move house! Leigh or Thope Bay are wonderful areas and very close to Southend - so you'll still be able to get into town to see all your ole immigrant chums.

Southend v Canvey games always count. Same as Canvey v Gravesend. The same way as if Spurs played Arsenal in a Friendly - that counts too. So stop trying to play the game down and just swallow your seagull sh*t pride and admit to yourself that your First XI got beat by Canvey Island.

You have to admit if we see you next season in the conf it will make for two fantastic games! But thats not all there is to look forward too. Lets not forget you'll also be playing Gravesend and Canvey Fans will enjoy watching you getting beat by them too.

Hey, I got over the result the moment I stepped out of the ground on Saturday. Friendlies are nothing more than a chance for the squad to get match fit and for new players to work with more established team members. They mean nothing. But when it counts, that's why 12,000 piled into Roots Hall and watched us stuff you Pikeys and your stupid bugle.

Don't make me laugh!

7-0 just shows the gulf between teams like The Marsh Rats and Southend.

You will never achieve conference status because there will always be someone better than you in the Ryman league!

Tough luck!

What do you mean the gulf between the Marsh Rats and Southend! Gillingham are Div 1 - Remember those days! You are Div 3. You are two leagues above us! There is no 'gulf' there my friend! Just a small creek.

Can't wait to play you lot again - not long to wait.

Yeah keep your eyes on Billericay - they've signed Andy Jones! Billericay have no cash, and soon they won't even be in Billericay soon.

Hornchurch is the bioggest threat in my eyes.

Two leagues is more than the "Creek" you refer to.

Never mind come May it will be four leagues - Southend in Division Two and CIFC Ryman Division One!

<img src="/images/graemlins/busted.gif" alt="" />

p.s. I like these graemlin thingys. Can we get some of these S2003?

0-7 Mwaahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah!

As I have said on this forum before...they are pre season friendlies and therefore there to get players match fit, try out new players and see some higher division teams blah, blah, blah. Altho I know some will get their gander up, the real games start on 16th August and that is when the win, lose, draw counts, banter starts and all pre season goodwill finishes...Altho, I will say, we are playing Gillingham on Monday and if we do better against 'em then Canvey a small "dig" will be in order (or out of order) <img src="/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/images/graemlins/smirk.gif" alt="" />

I'm fearing a Canvey backlash against the Rebels on Saturday. Its a long way to come to get tonked in a friendly!

I Love it I really love it just when things are looking boreing a couple of kosovans jump up to be laughed at.

As featured on the BBC Holiday Programme

Southend lovely oil slicks bengali take aways and the real atmosphere that comes from the melting pot of a genuine multi cultural community.

Twinned with Bosnia Hertzagovia and calcutta, the town is noted for its quaint little back streets frequented by a wide diversity of big issue sellers, pickpockets, foreign arts and crafts salesmem including crack distilling and sex on a stick.

Join us next week when we will be carrying out an in depth interview with the local mayor. Ivan Dontaneedajob and single parent Sharon Oneofadawrist. As they describe local beauty spots such as the Job Centre, Boot Sale, Clap Clinic and I need to Dye My Roots Hall.
