Well, they've started off in the right way !

As for Dagenham, unfortunately, we're no longer above them, thanks in part to 2 goals from Mr Bentley - quoted in the NLP " I'm really enjoying it at Dagenham, where expectations are much higher than at Gravesend. To them, a mid table position was satisfactory, here we want to be in the playoffs again, at least, this season". Assume Jacko was injured as he didnt appear in the squad at all yesterday.

I'm only telling you what I was told!

The point I was making (obviously not clearly enough,) was the vast difference there is in terms of the organisation and set-up of clubs, both of which are part-time, apparently.

We have such a small squad and rely on certain players to turn out through thick and thin. Mark Bentley, Matt Lee, Rob Owen and Jim all played for us last year with injuries that got worse as a result of having to play. Whereas a club like Dagenham can afford to let players recover properly.

Surely that is the standard we "should" be aiming for!

***Funny, if you'd looked at the Daggers site prior to the Barnet game, there were rumours that Bentley and the Piper brothers were in the bar being moody cos they weren't guaranteed a place every week.

Anyway, isn't it stating the obvious that Dagenham's expectations are higher than ours - more money, three years in the top four. It's like saying Real Madrid aspire to better things than Portsmouth. Benno - the master of the bleeding obvious.
