All this speculation on Enfield is very interesting and I am sure there are loads of you out there just waiting to drive in the final nail.

No Ground
No Money
Landlord closing the ground
TL in trouble with the FA

But no news could be good news

At the Enfield FC Supporters AGM last night the supporters were told what was going on. before anyone else, this was new and refreshing to see.

lets keep it up.
and NO I not telling you, should have been there

Rather than smart [****!!****] silly comments like "I'm not telling you" why don't you spill the beans if the future has been announced. most ETFC fans are interested in EFC's future and wish you well. One chairman doesn't make a club and even if most people detest Lazarou there should always be a futre for your club even after he has gone.

To be honest, I can understand why they might not want to spill the beans. They've been kept inthe dark for so long, and some people have taken the piss out of them because of it. I reckon the news will spread pretty quickly anyway, if it's regarding a secure future for the club. I'm glad to see that the club is willing to tell its fans what's happening for what seems to be the first time in years.

Sorry mate, I was at Town last night. Northampton Town that is. I knew that the AGM was on, but didn't fancy travelling for 2.5 hrs to get there, and the same again afterwards. No need to tell us what was said though, it's pretty obvious.

So EFC wants to be a pretty exclusive club now.

How to win friends and influence people!

What problems? The ground is being developed. We make our debut in the FA Cup in a couple of weeks time. We are amongst the favourites for the ESL title this season. If we win the ESL then we will be playing Ryman League football next season. We have good sponsors. with the ground improvements we should see even bigger attendances this season. We now have tie ups with youth and womens' football.

The future is bright. The future is ETFC!

Can I just say that it seems pathetic that people who were at the AGM don't want to share what went on.

For the previous two seasons I've fleetingly helped out on match days and watched some home games...I'm one of those supporters who comes along at the start of each season optimistic about what's ahead, only to be totally p*ssed off 3 months later with the same poor results, the same old lack of information, the complete lack of atmosphere/information coming from the club members and board & the seemingly endless new signings who stay for 7 weeks before finding somewhere better to play football. And then low and behold, EFC were relegated.

The way EFC is has been run over the past few seasons has been a disgrace to what was once a big, proud club. It is more like a sunday league team - and there were points last year that it wasn't even a very good sunday team. I would have thought that with relegation there would be some sort of consolidation of the club, but everything so far points to the same mistakes being made this season as in previous ones.

I'm not going to watch EFC again until thing's change - the club doesn't deserve my entrance fee and if the board can't see why this is a bad thing then they shouldn't be running the club. This isn't a 'I don't look for your results or support you' situation, rather a 'I'm not prepared now to support the clubs board'. And this certainly isn't a 'I'm gonna go and watch ETFC instead' - 'cos that will never happen with me.

But you are only as good as your last result, what keeps a club strong is it's fans and the relationship they have with the club. By cutting people off from the club (by, for example, not making AGM notes available to those who didn't attend) the relationship starts to fall apart - and EFC is in no position to let this happen. If people within the club want to treat the whole thing like a siege situation then it shows that there are real problems that they just don't want aired out of embarressment.

The whole EFC saga is very sad and depressing. But to watch the club behave like a 5-year-old is just unbelievable. I'm not expecting to know all the ins and outs of the club, just to be kept up-to-date and if that means publishing notes from the meeting online for those that can't attend meetings for one reason or another (distance, time, etc) then any sensible club would recognise the benefits before the downfalls (ie, being slagged of by people - which constantly happens in football anyway!)

A agree with this totally. In my view this type of behaviour is childish.

I think you need to take a deep breath and read my post again, but to help you, this is what I wrote..."For the previous two seasons I've fleetingly helped out on match days and watched some home games...I'm one of those supporters who comes along at the start of each season optimistic..."

What did I do...I was a steward at a few games and actually did the tannoy for three pre-season games. When I was asked to do it again I declined, it was more fun shouting abuse at the opposition, which obviously couldn't be done if I was representing the club...I did what I could, however fleetingly it was and I did it because I wanted to help the club. But I do have a career and couldn't unfortunately do more. As I said in my post, as the seasons rolled on the enthusiasm waned.

Do I pass the test? Do you want my supporters club membership number? Or maybe my Enfield shirt or a record of how many away games I went to last year...yes I was at THAT Hitchin mauling last season...(or at least I think it was Hitchin - it was sort of rubbed from my memory immediately afterwards)

Thanks for taking the time to explain that everyone who was present was asked to keep quite for a little while Robert. Doesn't seem like such a big secret now, just that the club have a plan but playing their cards close to their chest.

Having said that, it needs to be a bloody good plan.
