A few of us in sunny Sheffield with absolutely no knowledge of ryemans premier have followed a tip from a Londoner and had a good few Quid on CROYDEN e/way at 18/1 to win league.

i see they have made a good start and would like to know if they have any chance of keeping it up and finish in top 3.

Nothing personel but i hope my team( sheff wed ) never have to play at this level but teams can come back and do well ie Doncaster.

good luck to everybody but especially Croyden

To be fair to Doncaster they did well to get out of the Conference as quickly as they did as its a very strong league and is probably utopia for most non league supporters.

I think Kingstonian are the bookies favourites to win the Rymans this season, although Lowerstoft should be in the final mix due to their large fan base, Concord Rangers always seem to have the cash to splash so they could be an outside bet.

If anyone from the good city of Sheffeild want to see real football they could do a lot worse than make their way to Aveley on Sunday to watch Romford take on Beaconsfield Sycob in the FA Cup. It promises to be an exciting match and should certainly destroy any notions you northerners have about southern softies. Kickoff 2pm and a warm welcome guaranteed.

Good luck to the owls this season, and I hope its not to long before your back in the big time.

are you that desperate for fans at romford, perhaps you are hoping one of them is a millionaire to fund your fantasies of returning to romford one day

I thought that every club worth their salt wants to increase their fan base except perhaps Hornchurch who are obviously happy to have have the 2ND lowest gate in the RPL. Almost everyone that comes to a Romford match are impressed by our great hospitality, exciting football, and our well behaved fans.

I think advertising to sheffield is a bit over the top, anyway nice to see you bending the truth with figures,we had the second lowest gate saturday against a club with no away fans who were actually the lowest home gate for 15 of the ryman prem sides last season.

I think you will find that we more or less had the same attendance against them last season. We were about 8th in the attendance league last season and this will be the same or better this season,300 plus compared to your 80 or so regulars, you lot are as deluded as tottenham

Oh dear Birdboy, even though you are one of my oldest and dearest friends who just happens to support a different football club I have to say you are a very strange fellow indeed.

If you remember, about this time last year it was in all the local papers that AFC Hornchurch was in dire financial trouble and the first thing Romford did was to arrange a friendly match to raise funds so AFCH could survive. we brought several hundred supporters to Hornchurch and we also spent vast amounts of money in your clubhouse. Thanks to supporters of Romford FC you still have a club to support and yet you continually denigrate our great club.

I suppose because you appear to exist in some strange fantasy world you will try and deny this, but I think its important that people know the truth.

You lot ain't even got 70 fans let alone several hundred, and when we play you on the odd occassion, the last being 5 years ago where you were chucked out of the semi final of a cup competition because you fielded an inelegible player, you brought down no more than 25 fans,it was an embarrasment which just about sums up your pitiful little club

I seem to also remember the same season that your centre half won our goal of the season that year with a wonderful effort for the urchins, even your own players want us to win

I also seem to remember the league match that year,in front of a crowd of 702 at the bridge (where once again you managed to bring down 25 hardy souls) was and still is a record for a ESL match

If they make you happy, keep taking the fantasy tablets. I think most people know the truth about how we played a friendly last year and saved your club from extinction and that's whats important

If I remember correctly, the record gate at Bridge Avenue was when a Romford eleven played Arsenal in a friendly just after we reformed in 1992.

Suggesting that Romford only brought 25 supporters is laughable, we would bring 10 times that number for the opening of an envelope.

I remember the game, the attendance was 103,you came in at half time to avoid paying.

Record attendance at the bridge is 3500 against tranmere, more than your game with arsenal which was around the 2000 mark with 1950 being local gooners

you must be becoming deluded in your old age to suggest you even had 250 fans, let alone take them to an away game.If the truth is to be known you probably had no more than 10 come through the gate that night

You sure it wasn't the referee's fault? Perhaps we didn't notice their supporter in the bar as he boycotted it..........................again :biglaugh:

Bobby if we are such a lowly team not worth your time why do you keep biting like a rabid dog?

As I see it OS was passing some pleasantries with someone from Sheffield and you go all physco, frothing at the mouth.

Hatred does you no good. It will eat away at you, also it makes you look pathetic.

Chill out a bit sonny.
