Where did you see it Rob? the small flock I first saw about 6weeks ago seems to have dwindled to one male, and I haven't seen him since Monday.

Just seen a duck in HL Park, slightly bigger than a mallard, couldnt recognise it, but thought it may have been a red necked grebe, a really good twitcher thinks it is a red breasted goose from the atlantic. Looked it up on the net and 99% certain he is correct. Someone took a decent photo on her phone and will text it to me tomorrow when she works out how to send pictures on her new phone.

Forgot to mention the bird had a yellow ring on its leg.

Just come back from the park and have some great photos of the red breasted goose, if anyone wants to verify PM your email address and I will send them to you. Very rare bird.

Did you know there's a flock of about twenty green parrots in Harold Wood Park, they can be seen in a tall popular tree near to the play area.

 

Also, totally bird unrelated, they now have a group of meerkats in the kiddies section at Hainault.
