....for allowing the bar to run out of Strongbow before the game !!!!

but on a more serious note.......
...great performance today lads...top class !! everyone was singing...who knows ? might even get a chorus of Andy Ford's Red & White Army next time....or would the words stick in the throats of the doubters ??

Well done to all today.....

Onwards & Upwards...

It wasn't just the Devon types. Rob F and Paul T. have acquired a liking for your favourite tipple as well!!!!

Fleet Boy - Yes, I apologise...was looking through the narrow vision that is the cocktail of victory and alcohol ( albeit Kronenburg at one juncture during the afternoon !! )

AndrewC - We don't want that sort of behaviour Wilson !! Tell them to drink something else !! ...or get the club to order extra rations !!

Cheers,

Oh, Hirsty, if only had I known of your love for the apple-type stuff before-hand. Saturday morning I travelled up from Somerset and could have stopped off to get you some proper, industrial-strength, West Country scrumpy. Hopefully I'll be going again soonish so place your order!!!

I know it's an old thread, and I don't want to put you off lads, but be careful of the cider - especially scrumpy.

The cyanamide [H2NCN] in that drink reacts with your body's store of ammonia [NH3] and the carbon dioxide [CO2]in the drink, and forms urea [CO(NH20)2] - which the excess crystalises and collects in your joints and gives you...you guessed it...GOUT. V. painful condition. Liklihood of getting it by drinking too much cider and eating red meat is fairly high.

Scrumpy is often worse if the apple pips have been included in the fermentation process, as they release more cyanamide into the liquid. Hence the cliche "Scrumpy makes you go blind".

Take it easy & enjoy!!

There ends today's science-based health warning.

I always thought it was playing with yourself that makes you go blind and now I'm confused...is David Blunkett a p*sshead or a w*nker?

Have you seen the new Shepeard Neame beer mats? They describe different processes in the making of their beer, one of which is "It takes 7 years for the water to seep down into the green chalk..." which explains why it's also known as Sh*t'n'Scream.
