we didnt play well tonite.. but that is 3, 3 nillers on the spin so i will not be complaining... i would like to see cobbers starting against the poorer teams in this league as he can rip them up.. boylan looks better against the classier defenders..all in all one of those nights when nothing went too well but 3 more points in the bag..good to see parms get one in, he will be crucial later this season.. the back three looked good but i would love to see bodders back.. benno im not to sure about? he is always in the right place but gives the ball away too easily .. looks like its us and G and N now to the wire.. bring it on kent boys this is what footys all about!!

well done again Canvey last night. That kind of game was always going to be 'bannana skin' whatever the conditions were. Not an entirly great performance but i thought when Mr Tilson came he brought a touch of class to the game. Excellent passing and vision, a joy to watch and even with that gale blowing off the estuary that forced even the hardend fan's under cover, he played some super long balls. He even got back as well to defend and it just goes to show that his experience and knowledge are priceless and an important part of canveys 'push' for promotion. glad to see the lad Parmenter took my advice and kept his knee over the ball to score late doors!

also what was a pleasing site was the construction of the stand at the carpark end. things are taking shape at last.

I agree another good win and Tilly did make a great contribution, The man has come back at the right time and within a few more matches I am sure will start games, If not sooner ( But we will leave that to Jeff & Glen to decide.
Lets now get another 3 points against St Albans on Saturday and put G & N under the same sort of pressure we were under last year playing catch up.
We all know how that feels looking at last years fixture congestion.
PS. I thought the pitch looked in good nick, Congrats to the ground staff.

Here's one for Dave GNFC in response to your comment of possibly having three games in hand by Saturday.

Let us assume three things-

1. Canvey keep on winning.

2. Gravesend beat Stalybridge and win in the next round of the Trophy.

3. Canvey lose to Yeovil or Doncaster.

If the above happened you would be in a two legged semi-final which would take out two Saturday games, in addition to you missing out this week and whenever the next Trophy round is played. That would give you an additional four games in hand which, together with your existing two, would give you six games in hand.

With Canvey continuing to win(see number one above),we would be 14 points ahead of you. Now add to this the unthinkable (at least for you) that Canvey win at Gravesend and we are then 17 points clear although you will have six games in hand and the season running out. Sounds like where we came in last year. Daunting isn't it? Do you fancy your chances from that position?

p.s. Please forgive all the assumptions and "ifs", it's just a good way to get a conversation going.
