Stortford are trying to get moved down to ryman prem, they fear it could kill the club if they are forced into the north.

Thurrock is confirmed reprieved.

Rushden to move to southern central not prem although it will probably all change.st Albans would seem logical to ryman prem if stortford accept connie north.

It's all a mess and because the FA our games governing body, cannot be bothered to govern the game properly

Personally it was easier to regulate in the old days,we should go back to having a north/midlands/south divisions although this too has it's own problems with the south being 200 plus miles wide at some points. If anything the north division should be down to just below Manchester, midlands should include Stoke, nth Wales,Lincoln down to south of Birmingham, then a south east and south west divisions.with east Anglia,London, herts,Kent,Sussex,Surrey,Sussex, bucks, beds and then south west as west country, south Wales over to Hampshire,Wiltshire, oxfordshire

Some good points there Rob, but IMO it would be better to scrap the conference and have eight regions, with the winners of each region entering a playoff competition or mini league to decide who gets promotion into the football league. Full time players at conference level is obviously unsustainable for a lot of the teams, but they do so anyway because they feel they need to compete, no matter what the consequences, and transport cost can only get higher because of the cost of fuel. It would also have the added advantage for small clubs like ours who could easily find ourselves in the football league much quicker than we ever thought possible, as long as we can comply with ground grading regs.

I think the conference is ok,as long as a club don't go too mad to stay or get out of it,this should be regulated but is not. Some clubs can maintain professionalism but others obviously can't.

After the conference then as above it should be split into 4 or maybe 6 regions(I think 8 too many but not out the question). With 4 regional divisions you could have 20 teams in each, the top team goes up with the runners up from each league going into the play offs for one place. And have 5 relegated each season from conference national.

If you have 8 regions and play offs for a couple of places, you could have teams winning their leagues but not going up,as a fan I wouldn't be too happy

so is the north anything north of the M25

chelmsford are the only club in the blue square south not south of the northern stretch of the M25 so if we have aspirations of being in that league we should beware
