Kids go free

A good idea...a little to generous perhaps and could have done with being announced a while earlier..i don't want to seem to "have a go" at this too much though becuase it's been something we've been suggesting for a while, and i think the timing(on a mini-unbeaten run)is very good. So in conclusion...nice one gnfc!

Yep certainly a good idea, lets hope we get around as many schools and youth clubs spreading the word...

PS. The news page mentions the West Ham game , but no mention of the Mickeys against the Gooners live on sky kicking off @ 12:30 .

Howabout a free pint for all those in the ground before 12:30 , adults not the kids ?

Looks like the details I was given are duff, the West Ham match is a 17:35 kick off. I will amend the news page.

Nice idea but let's hope the kid's treat their parents to an afternoon out and drag them along for the match, also. Otherwise we could end up with loads of U/16's popping along just for a free lunch.

Perhaps the announcement should have stated ...free entry for kids with a paying adult? or is this simply a PR excercise to encourage some of the local youth population into following the Fleet, going forward.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not knocking the idea. I think the whole afternoon will be great. Shame the Mascot hasn't been agreed yet as it would have added that something extra to the day. Maybe next time? Well done GNFC!!

Interesting and a good promotional idea. Let's hope the kids come away from the match with positive behaviour codes, that promote parents to return with their offspring, and not come away conditioned in bellowing out every swear word known to the English speaking world!!! I noted the other week that a small group of kids were chanting the usual stuff except they seemed reluctant to introduce swearing. Good for them and a shame it was wasted on some that stood nearby and that should know better. Perhaps the crowd could adapt the 'Canvey...' chant to finish off with 'You must be somewhat bent'.

Long live articulate chanting and witty repost!

Have told the kids at the school where i teach!

Should be a few of them down as them seemed keen!

If there is lots of noise and a good atmosphere then they will be more likely to come back!!

So get that drum going!

Excellent idea, but I couldnt see anything in the Reporter about it today (although I havent read every word).Somebody else said it was announced a bit late. If it doesnt work because nobodys heard about it, or we just give free entry to those kids who would have come anyway then I wouldnt like the idea to be dismissed as a non starter.

This is a gr8 idea, if 250 kids go free 4 their first ever fleet match, they'll get hooked on the fleet nd watch them week in weeek out! And leave C****y out of it, they're a DIVISION BELOW US, DON'T FORGET, change it to Margate, at least they can call themselves a conference club!
