Ash Trees 3 Maidstone United 1

Recommended Posts

Indeed a great second half performance and terrific result. Pity we didn't get a home tie next round, but what the hell.

I also looked at the Maidstone Forum and didn't think their report had as much balance as ours normally do.

I'll re-visit their's as I think they may have shots from the game on their excellent Stones TV section on their site, which I think is pretty decent. Good luck to Maidstone for their promotion push and their new ground.

Agree about second half Keith but I felt we got into the game in the last 20 minutes of the first half and looked quite dangerous at times.

I asked Burgo what he had said in the dressing room at half time to get such a reaction and he replied "The same as before the game but this time they listened". Let's hope they listen next week as well.

Swifty you missed a cracker :P 1-0 down on 8 mins to a rather sloppy goal the rest of the 1st was pretty even and when we had a sight on goal we either blasted high and handsome or rather scuffed them along the ground :o

The boys were out of the traps 2nd half and on 49 mins a low shot by Pietro was going well wide but Jack turned it in for the equaliser.. On 51mins we broke down the right the ball came to Shane on the left edge of the six yard box and he volleyed back past the keeper into the far right corner, Despite getting finger tips to the shot it hit the net with some pace :)

Macca made a fine save midway through the half, diving to his right to keep a decent strike out... In the 94th minute of the what should have been an additional 3 Bits broke down the right and with everyone saying "take it to the corner" i yelled "no cross it for the 3rd" he duly did and Pietro tucked away the low cross at the near post B)

A great team performance, special mention for young Jack who won every header and tackle in the middle, and Bits and Shane for switching wings and keeping the full backs on their toes :D

I was at a barbecue held in my honour...on a Saturday afternoon?!?! It was actually meant to be my 'stag' barbecue but got delayed some three years, and i've been married over two years now!

Never been to a BBQ with venison on offer. Makes a change from pork, chicken and ribs, i suppose. Talking of stags, any chance of getting Mansfield Town's new CEO down for a gentleman's night?
