Town went down 4-0 at Benfleet but the score does not reflect the way the game went. Town dominated the first half for long periods but went behind against the run of play. when Jordan Cox put the hosts ahead. HT 1-0.

The second half began much more evenly but the ref, who had a mare (he wasn't biased just poor), sent off Town's Michael Lee for an innocuous challenge. This rocked Town and galvanised Benfleet who scored 3 goals in a 10 minute spell, including a Hat Trick for Cox.

The lads can feel a bit aggrieved but will be looking to bounce back at home to Ryan FC next week in the Denny King Memorial Cup. KO 1:30pm.

Town's young Reserve side (5 x 16 year olds) went down 1-5 at home to Springfield Reserves. Jonathan Seekings bagging Town's consolation goal.

Next week the Reserves are away to Runwell Hospital Reserves, KO 2:00pm
