This weekend Town's first team played host to Ryan FC from the division above and were unlucky to lose by the odd goal in 3.

The hosts took the lead through a well taken goal from Danny Lee-Wilkins. Ryan restored parity shortly before the break. HT 1-1.

Both teams started the second half brightly and it could have gone either way. However, it was Ryan who advanced through to the next round when a long range effort squeezed inside Jason Potter's right hand post. A good goal. FT 1-2.

A very entertaining and even game with both teams trying to get the ball down and play. We wish Ryan the best of luck in the next round.

Net week sees Town travelling to Brentwood to take on Shenfield AFC in a Senior Div 3 fixture.

Basildon Town's young reserves travelled the short distance to Runwell Hospital in a Reserve Div 2 fixture, coming away with an excellent point following an exciting 3-3 draw. Jonathan Seekings bagging himself a Hattrick.

Next week the Reserves host Debden Reserves in a Reserve Div 2 fixture.
