Hello lads

Recommended Posts

Rumour has it that Beano's downed the last three yardales at the club!

Were you the chap talking to Alan during the second half? If so, sorry for the noise. I was the 'nutter' (copyright St. Neots Town forum ;) ) in the tangerine Santa hat standing above the dugout.

I wonder if Newbie was on the same train as us, Swifty?

Whatever - welcome aboard! It was a great performance and a very enjoyable experience on and off the park.

I have emptied the glass above the bar several times, yes, but in the name of team-building... One of these instances, for instance, raised £100 for Billy Jeffreys at a benefit held at the club after he broke his leg. I can't do it now, of course, being a responsible parent... :P

I live in the area as moved to St Neots recently. Don’t often get the chance to see the boys in action so popped along, was impressive to see some tangerines had made the journey on a wet Tuesday night!

I never would have thought it was possible to do a yard of ale, let alone 3, something for us tangerines to be proud of that we have a fan capable of such immense scoopage!!

Do you boys do many away games? If so, you up for hitting North Greenford on the 31st December?, I’ll bring a few tinnies, we can party on into the new year, see if Beano can do another yard!

Hmm, could be awkward for us, but there's a silver lining.

I don't do too many away games as I like groundhopping and I've done most of the grounds in this league already, though I may well be at the North Greenford game.

Beano's given up on Saturday games until the spring - he has a two-year-old daughter who he brings to games in the nicer weather but, living in Hayes and not being able to drive, Beano feels it would be unfair to subject his daughter to two long bus journeys and an afternoon out in chilly conditions. Beano does try and do local midweek games straight after work, though.

Had the St. Neots game been played on its original date (it was rescheduled due to FA Trophy commitments for both teams), then you would probably have met our usual travelling contingent who go to most of the games - they include Dan (Fatboy), Daryl and Mark who are on the committee, plus some beer-loving away fans such as Kev (Kevchenko), Alan, Rod and Scotty (forgotten his first name) who wear the team shirts / colours, bring flags along and congregate behind the goal we're attacking. If you bring some tinnies to the NGU game, introduce yourself to them and they'll help you empty the metal!

Most away games there will be about 20/30 Ashford fans and commitee. Sadly, as Swifty points out, the most appealing away game of the season at St neots was moved to a winters night. Still, always next year unless they go up.

31st Dec I will be in Colchester cheering the mighty Exeter City which isn't a million miles from St Neots!

Scotty's first name is Dave, mind you I am rubbish I keep calling one of our fans Stuart when his name is Graham :o
