Right...

I've had a bash at pulling together a podcast. The pilot episode is now available from our website at this link:

http://www.ashfordto...t/view/1746/61/

I've also submitted it to iTunes, but until they've had a chance to review it, the podcast won't come up on their search. If you would like to play it via iTunes immediately, you can do so by following these instructions:

Click on the "Advanced" menu at the top

Click on "Open Stream"

Enter this URL(minus quotation marks): "http://www.ashfordtownmiddlesexfc.com/audio/podcasts/podcastblaster.xml"

I would like to thank Batts, Swifty and the Chairman for their contributions, especially Swifty as he also provided the theme tune.

All feedback - good or bad - is most welcome! I hope you enjoy it.

Gareth -

I really enjoyed the podcast and appreciate the time and effort put into it by you and the contributors. If I can offer a comment in a constructive (certainly not critical) way, whilst the clubhouse interviews were given against the inevitable background noise, I did have to strain to hear some of the interviews because of it. This is emphatically not a criticism, just a bit of feedback which is probably more down to my ageing hearing than I would care to admit!

I also admire your energy and enthusiasm, but got a bit worried about the fact I've been a member for a few years without realising I could be liable for debts if it all went t**s up! Hopefully that fear will be alleviated with the changes described.

The info about the Club's direction off the field was interesting, and I too had picked up about Croydon Athletic's problems elsewhere in the media which for sad reasons are a warning shot about how not to run a club, it seems to me. Thank god we are in good hands, and have been in the 11+ years I've been watching.

Finally, the podcast could have passed as one put together by an experienced hand, not as a pilot - well done and many thanks.

Thanks, Keith. Background noise is likely to be a problem with most post-match interviews, but it was worse for Dave's than the others because there were people nearby who didn't realise we were recording! :D That's going to happen from time to time but it's definitely something we will try to minimise moving forward.

Obviously, I won't be at many Saturday games over the next few months, but I will be at midweek games and if people enjoy this first one, we'll do more...

That Hutchinson chap's talented, isn't he. Looks a bit like a pink Shrek, but still talented! I did actually provide Gareth with an instrumental version of the theme tune as well - I reckon that'll be used by demand next time!

In all seriousness, that was a really enjoyable, well put-together and informative podcast. All that after a day's work and trying to fit in family life as well. Multi-tasking at its best.

You might need to work on the mic noise when saying 'esses and pees'. An old trick is to cut a piece out of a pair of tights and put that on the mic or between the mic and the speaker - but make sure Steph's taken the tights off before you start cutting them!

Or you could put the tights over your head....... and rob a corner shop!

Really enjoyed the pilot and i look forward to the next one.

I have to apologise to everyone at the club that i completely forgot about the EGM. When Beano mentioned it on the podacst i spat my tea out! I have been so busy with work i have had to take a back seat with my club duties. However i will be back after christmas making more of an effort.

Well done Batts, Ed, Dave and Beano !

The thing was, I had a problem with my email, so I only had the vocal version of the theme tune and one "sting" that would work! There was a bit of "crackle" on the final segment in particular - my fault, as I was on about Take 7 and I was wandering around the living room with the recorder in my hand. A definite lack of concentration there, but I was happy with the content so I left it in...

I'm quite pleased with the result, and very happy with the feedback so far. Thanks to all!
