In a haze as to how it ended goalless against AFC Hayes!

Recommended Posts

This has to be most incredible scoreless game I have ever witnessed.......... Ashford simply played Hayes off the park with "Windy" standing in for Macca not having a save to make....

The Hayes keeper was in inspired form producing a QUADRUPLE save in the first half followed 30 seconds later by a magnificent one handed diving stop to keep a powerful shot out of the top left hand corner......... I started counting them up and made it 10 top draw saves in all as well as dealing very well punching several high balls away that were swirling around in the wind........

We also had at least 12 corners and pinned our opponents back for a good 80% of the match...

Pietro had got injured in the warm up and Bits started in his place...... All the lads were absolutely superb, running tirelessly, working hard and passing the ball to feet in very slick fashion......

Had we won by 5 or 6 goals it would not have flattered us...........

Great entertainment and a very enjoyable game and performance, keep going lads the goals will be flowing in shortly :D

Ashford Town (Middlesex) 0 goals, AFC Hayes 0 shots at goal!

Frustrating and disappointing. We deserved victory against a lacklustre AFC Hayes side who must have had one of those nights.

The first half was weird, for the most part it was boring and play was bogged down in midfield, but in three flashes of attacking play we brought out seven great saves from the man of the match. He made three more excellent stops after the break, and the away team parked the bus and defended manfully. In the end, though, they deserved nothing and went away with an undeserved point.

Hard to pick out a man of the match, as no-one had a dazzling game but no-one had anything less than a good game either. At a push, Dan's workrate was impressive (not for the first time) and our defence and midfield simply snuffed out their attack play. In the end, that's five unbeaten, the lads reshuffled well after losing Pietro so late, and four highly creditable results against teams in the top eight. Maybe not so frustrating and disappointing after all, then!

Spot on, Kev!

The Hayes Keeper won them the point. The rest of the Hayes team defended doggedly.

] Superb from our lads all over the park. Windy will never have an easier game.

PROUD.

And forgot to mention Pasties for a £1.00 at half time. Dan and Kev snapped up the last 2 and went down very nice with my cup of Bovril ^_^
