Suprised that 2 games were completed, I was going to Gravesend v Aldershot phoned the club about 1 and was told it should be on, rung back about 2pm and a recorded message said it was off feel sorry for Shots fans who had a wasted trip, they've got enough problems with Borg as manager!!

Well what happened was that the referee inspected the pitch at 1:15 by which time there was only one strip at the covered end that was still frozen and the sun was just getting to it so he decided to wait until 1:45 and inspect again.
On the second inspection he decided that the problem area wouldn't be ready by 3:00 so he called it off.
It was a marginal decision at 1:15 and everything was done to try to get the pitch ready.
The only other option would been to have called it off at about 11:00 to save anybody travelling, but it was felt then that there was still a good chance that we could have got the game played, and that would have been in everybody's interest.
Sadly at the end of the day we couldn't play and everyone got pissed off, but in my humble opinion it was worth trying.
A different referee may well have played because the pitch was 100% better than last year when the referee gave the go ahead to play Farnborough.
