Colney sound like a nightmare I hope league are looking at their conduct. They going well are they a good side? They must be. Or do they get by on intimidation? Although teams should man up and not let it happen

You'll probably boast that you are doing Arsenal v Aston Villa, Chelsea v Reading or Tottenham v Fulham tomorrow morning in the Premier Academy League

Very close.

8/10 for your effort. :D

Okay, how about Watford v Southampton or Crystal Palace v Milton Keynes Dons, also in the Premier Academy League

You were close the first time.

Arsenal (u-16) vs Aston Villa (u-16)

Saw about a minute of the Watford vs Southampton game before popping in next door for my one.

Did you get to the Hertford Town vs Colney Heath game?

All talk as usual - I didn't have the pleasure of his company ignoring him.

So you were at Arsenal v Aston Villa in the Premier Academy League, I can read you like a book. As it was an 11.00am kick off did you ask to be considered for a nearby SSML at 3.00pm out of interest.

Good win for berko at levy today, some nice football from both sides and the ref did ok with all the moaning and kept the game flowing nicely. In all honesty when I saw the line ups I thought berko might be in for another bashing but (and this might upset Rhodes) Kevin gallen was shyte, perhaps if they played someone else it would have been.

I'm giving Ref Off Ref another half an hour to get back from Herns Lane, if he went, and then inserting the ear plugs

Sorry KB....but probably the best Ampthill performance for a long time.

Heard WGC for once had a strong line up, but from start to finish today we were clinical.

Must also add thought the Ref today had a blinder, wasn't fussy, wasn't whistle happy and let the game flow.....could have tho and should have been more than 6, but after firing blanks in our previous 3 games we will take this as a perfect time to give ourselves a kick up the jacksie.

Totally agree, no disputes about the outcome reports reach me that we were woeful and echo your remarks about referee, he got a 90 from us plus comments about how good he was.

Roll on London Colney and Kings Langley :D

DIVISION ONE

0-4 Kentish Town v Wodson Park

A Groundhopper's views

Spartan South Midland League 1st Division:

Kentish Town 0-4 Wodson Park

(@ Copthall Stadium)

Admission: £5

Programme: With Admission

Grub: Bacon bagel - £2.50

Attendance: 16 (h/c)

Finally! 5th time lucky I see a game here. For an athletics ground it isn't that bad. The view from the Main Stand is actually ok. Just a shame they are so badly supported as everyone was really friendly off the pitch. Interesting comments in the programme which stated, "as all are aware that Saracens have been granted permission to take over the stadium, but for us the fight starts now.." It does suggest Kentish Town do not have long here left.

On the pitch, Wodson Park cruised to an easy victory including two penalties (one stonewell, one controversial). As always in the SSML, swearing a plenty for us all to enjoy.

Well done to Hoddie for reaching that landmark as I'm sure along with Cranfield in Division One this season a few more may follow suit before the season end.

At the other end of the scale though, London Colney in 31 games and Ampthill in 30 to date have both only conceded 26 goals, that when goals are at a premium should also be recognised.

Bit of both really, they have a few talented players - particularly Cooper and Eames - but their intimidation tactics always shine through. I've never come across a team like them - despite seeing them under 3 different managers they are always the same!

PREMIER DIVISION

6-2 St Margaretsbury v Hadley

A report from another Forum:

Saturday 10th March 2012 @3pm

Spartan South Midlands Premier Division

St MARGARETSBURY v HADLEY 6-2

Admission: £6 with programme

Attendance: 19

Bacon Roll: £2

Hot Drinks (poly): £1

The Recreation Ground on Station Road is in the hamlet of Stanstead Abbotts, just south of Ware and 5 minutes walk from the rail station. The ground has 3 pitches including one overlapping the cricket pitch. The main pitch however, is fenced off on the far side of the complex. The clubhouse/pavilion is outside the ground entrance. A raised bank on the nearside touchline is home to the tea bar and covered accommodation. A modern basic stand split into standing and seating areas. This offers a good view of the action. The rest of the pitch is railed and concrete standing.

Arriving 45 minutes before kickoff gave me chance to speak with the gateman and watch the end of the Bolton v QPR game in the clubhouse with the home manager Lee Judges who appeared very relaxed about todays game, after the teams shock win v Dunstable in the week.

The home side got off to a great start with Hadley struggling at the back. No11 O’Connor cut in from the left to open the scoring on 15 minutes, and then Tutalamo (no10) added the 2nd a ¼ way through the match. When Striker Leigh Rose scored the third on 30 minutes Hadley made a substitution to help out the defence. The defence stabilised for the rest of the half and Hadley even managed a goal 10 minutes before half time.

I arrived back in the ground just in time to see the ball picked out of the net, with was followed by Tutalamo adding his second before I sat back down. The game was over as a contest, but Dom Petrucci, the Hadley no11 is a skilful player and got his second goal using his strength and pace. The final goal arrived in the last 15 minutes when Rose was tripped in the area, with the defender being sent off as last man and captain Ricky Light expertly despatched the penalty in the bottom corner.

St Margaretsbury is a really friendly club and I enjoyed an entertaining game. Just a shame only 18 others got to see it.
