Saturday 7th April

DIVISION ONE

0-3 Kentish Town v Tokyngton Manor

A report on this one from another Forum:

SOUTH MIDLANDS LEAGUE DIVISION 1- KENTISH TOWN 0 TOKYINGTON MANOR 3

Attendance- roughly 12 (paying customers) Admission-£5 inc programme Refreshments- Cafe Copthall open for tea/coffee and chocolate

On my way back (sort of) from the 3 Sussex Cup Finals, I was pleased to tick off this venue as it is Kentish Town`s last home game there as the stadium has been bought by Saracens RU. In fact the future of KT is rather uncertain; they have joined forces with various youth teams in the Campden Town area to promote youth football at all levels, but the likelihood of a senior team in the South Midlands League is uncertain both from a playing and a ground point of view.

The game itself was dominated by the visitors who, true to form, arrived in dribs and drabs after half past 2; KT were unable to trouble the TM keeper. The stadium is dominated by the large main stand which offers a good view from the back despite the running track in between. The game was spent in the good company of Shotton Brian.

I was at THE COPTHALL for Kentish Town's final game at the stadium. I hope they find another home next season as they are a good club with a friendly welcome always from their officials and helpers. I always like visiting the stadium.

The Tok Manor team drifted into the stadium at around 2.30pm whilst Kentish warmed up on the pitch. Their late arrival didn't seem to do them any harm as they ran out easy winners and actually played some decent footy.

Match highlights, photos of the ground on it's final day for footy and a report on http://thecoldend.blogspot.co.uk/2012/04/kentish-town-say-goodbye-to-copthall.html

It was the worst case of kit-clash ever as Kentish Town in blue shirts with a dash of sky blue took on Tok Manor in sky blue and dark blue diagonal shirts!!! Photos are on the cold end on the above link. the whole 90 mins was played like this!!
