Cameron comes under fire!

Recommended Posts

Haha Rhodesly, good effort. Perhaps you are confused as to who the current Home Secretary is and which Governmental Department is responsible.

No matter, now, which Prime Minister took us into Europe, perhaps you can remember that, maybe Big JR could help you.

David Cameron’s flagship “Big Society” initiative has failed, with fewer people feeling empowered and Britain growing more divided, an independent assessment has said.

In a brutal critique of what was once the prime minister’s most treasured project, an audit carried out by the Civil Exchange think-tank found that civic participation had fallen, more people felt as if they did not belong to their neighbourhoods and little more than a third felt that they could influence local decisions.

The prime minister described his Big Society idea in 2010 as “a deep, serious reform agenda to take power away from politicians and give it to people”. He has moved away from talking about the initiative in recent years, however.

I always felt Camarons "big society" idea was more about getting volunteers to work for nothing.  I looked at the possibility of helping unemployed youngsters find jobs, but gave up when I was told I would have to go on a training coarse that would have cost me £700.

Who saw, sorry, witnessed Parliamentary Questions half an hour or so ago, it was laughable wasn't it!

For me, it just seemed like he was asking people to help in the community when they already were and then take credit for something that was already happening. Didn't know they wanted to charge for the privilege of doing it?? It was never going to work.

I see that Mrs Cameron's company is relocating their offices to Luxembourg.

A case of 'don't do what my wife does, do as I say', perhaps?

Looking good for a Labour/SNP. government.

God Forbid !!

Me and 'Er Indoors'  have been out and placed a cross on a piece of paper.

I honestly thought that the turn out would be incredibly low this time, given the general apathy by the electorate according to the press.  However, the polling station staff said they were surprised at how busy they had been from the off !

I am going to vote out of principle but I already know the winner in the constituency I live in before the start.

I wonder what percentage of young people eligible to vote actually will - that's where the apathy will be and understandably so.

It's a bit ironic really if the apathy is with young people when we have been told that 16 and 17 year olds are desperate to be allowed to vote.

Not that I believe 99% of what we've been told.

First order of play should be an English Referendum to decide whether we want the Scots to be a part of the UK. Like that is going to happen though.

Even though Romford will almost certainly remain Tory I still believe it important to vote as having more votes nationally in a close result seatwise would give us the moral right to form a government if we received more votes.

Well. it's all over now, bar the shouting !!

'Call me Dave'  Cameroon has a clear majority as I type, and has gone to the palace to see Her Maj.

Lib Dems were crucified and Cleggy steps down.

'Big Nige' doesn't get his seat and steps down, though probably only temporarily.

The Ginger Witch now totally controls Scotland after routing mainly labour seats, so you can bet your life, she'll make life difficult for 'Call me Dave' and want another referendum.

Ed 'Milliepede', horrified at the labour result jumps ship as well.  I bet his brother can't stop laughing !!

The only good thing to come out of it all, is that now we will get a referendum on Europe, (or we won't, as the case may be.  Never trust a politicians promise).

Lets just see how the next five years goes before 'Call me Dave'  retires from politics and disappears into the sunset to earn himself a fortune from speeches, biogs and the like.
