I dont know why we continue to enter this yearly bore fest. Hemel's side very rarely bother to turn up and try with any effort and today was no exception.

Four shots on target by Jets (all second half) and two shots (one in each half) for Hemel tells its own story of a game that made you wonder if life itself was worth it.

The winner came with seven minutes left - a good strike from Jets full back Andrew Lomas, and had everybody applauding mainly for the fact it meant no extra time and we could all go and watch West Ham on TV in the clubhouse.

Sometimes too many cups can be entered as the higher league teams do not play a full strength side. Example is tonights Beds Senior Cup Final. Luton Town never put out their 1st team anyway, but as they had a play off game yesterday and a final to come, their team will probably be an Under 18 team. Devalues the competition I think.

Just thought I'd look at Lancs senior cup as Luton are in Beds final. Appears slightly higher in quality lol

The Town came from two goals down to lift their first Beds Senior Cup in 106 years in a nine-goal thriller against Dunstable Town at Kenilworth Road.

With 12 minutes left the Hatters were two goals down against their South Midlands League opponents.

 

But goals from JJ O'Donnell and Alasan Ann took the tie to extra-time.

Dan Walker put the Town head four minutes into extra-time before Dunstable restored parity almost immediately.

Shane Blackett headed home to make it 4-3 before former Hatters Peter Holmes' sensational strike made it four apiece with five minutes left.

But it was Walker and the Town who had the last word when he finished well with two minutes left in a dramatic finale.

Town: Kidd, Gleeson, Beckwith, Blackett, Taylor, Boucaud, Walker, Kissock, O'Donnell, Morgan-Smith, McAllister. Subs: Ann, Carney, Lacey, Nash, Carpenter.

Dunstable: Taylor, Boyce, Mead, Bruce, Wood, Pickerting, Holmes, Brennan, Frater, Roache, Jackson. Subs: Brinkman, Henney, Leach, Nelly.

Binfield 0 Maidenhead United 1

 

The game was end to end, played at a fast pace and it took a great goal to win it for Maidenhead United.
