Would You Still Support Your Club If They Changed Their Shirt Colours?

If the same thing happened at your club, would you still support them or not?

If my teams - Arsenal and Gloucester City - changed their colours, I think that I'd be among the fans going elsewhere.

Only an idiot would stop supporting their side because of a shirt change, don't get me wrong,if arsenal or hornchurch changed their colours I would be fuming but I wouldn't cut my nose off to spite my face, saying that,I may change my way of thinking if arsenal started playing in white and blue or blue and gold as their first kit

WOW ! I thought they had changed their mind about that due to uproar from the fans !. It makes sense I suppose red for Wales.

Guernsey have always been Green and White. But if a shirt colour change came ( it would be wierd ! ) that meant a big investment for instance I wouldn't have a problem.

If Sportingbet want to build us a 5,000 all seater stadium i'd gladly let them change our kit to 'Sportingbet Blue' ! ;)

Simple really, if you don't like the shirt, then don't buy it. It might just get the message across.

But as for not supporting my club that I've followed almost all of my life - no chance.

I'll be the voice of dissent then and say no, I would seriously reconsider if my team changed colour as dramatically as blue to red. The colour is part of your clubs identity and usually when and if it changes, it's either gradual or back to something it used to be. Changing purely for commercialism sake is dispicable.

I see Burgess Hill have changed from yellow to green and black, not sure if that's an old kit colour.

Your question, on its own should lead to a simple of answer of "yes".

I support Wimbledon and they have been yellow, white and various shades of blue over the last 36 years that I have supported them.

But with Cardiff it is totally different.

They are proposing changing the shirt, nickname, badge, i.e. virtually all the things that identify Cardiff as Cardiff.

AND they are doing it to make money, not because they have consulted fans and asked them what they want.

The Cardiff fans, in the main, do NOT want the change because part of the identiy of the club, the thing that draws them to Cardiff City will be changing against their will.

Now there are some people who care more about the £ than identity but as it was £ that ruined my club I would tell the Malaysians to go [****!!****] themselves and protest, firstly by boycotting merchandise, and secondly by protesting for a change back.

No good will come of it anyway. Never does in the long run, even if they do go up.

I Like the new England blue kit,so easy on the eye.Do not see any of their fans moaning.Likewise give me a Dipre anyday, turned a ramshackle ground into a pleasure to visit.

It's not that simple with Dipre and Carshalton though. Tarting up the ground is all very well (it hasn't changed THAT much to make the experience any more pleasurable) and I'm guessing he's upset the fans more by sacking managers and club stalwarts and banning fans than changing the kit from maroon to red (hardly in itself a radical change) and club crest to a silly cartoon.Personally I would accept a change from green and white to white and green.

Ironically, Cardiff City's away kit / 2nd kit will be blue. I think it will be worth watching the highlights of the first few home games of the new season to guage supporter reaction. It will be wierd to see the home fans in blue while their team is in red.

Quite clever really.... Imagine the sale of home shirts will go through the roof!
