Essex Senior & Olympic League Changes?

Recommended Posts

How will the FA's plans to increase the size of step five leagues nationally impact on the current Essex Senior League, which at present operates with only 18 clubs.

Also, bear in mind that two extra league places will be created for the Ryman D1 North League from next season.

Will teams from the Olympic League be moved up, to fill any blank spaces, and what will steps 6-7 in Essex Non-League Football look like from next season?

So the Olympian does not feed into the Senior? Ok, was under the impression it did.

Black Sea a foot note? I would argue that it was the album that made them. Drums and Wires brought them to the public's attention with Making Plans For Nigel and Life Begins At The Hop, but Black Sea had Towers Of London, Sgt. Rock, No Language In Our Lungs, Generals And Majors (ok, the video with Richard Branston Pickle is a bit cringe-worthy). So many great songs and they followed it with another great album in English Settlement.

Then again, trying to debate their best album is a tough one - Oranges and Lemons is a great candidate, but Nonsuch is fantastic - Mummer is always a good listen whilst The Great Express is very under-rated imho.

Great to see a fellow fan who appreciates good music.

Adam Olympian League Premier is step 7 so unfortunately at present we dont have a step 6 League feeding directly into the ESL so clubs who finish top 3 in step 7 Leagues can apply, most Olympian League teams dont have floodlights.

Skylarking seems to be viewed as XTC's masterpiece now but as you say they hardly made a bad album so its impossible to pick one,the Apple and Venus volumes were both very strong Andy Partridge really needs to be viewed as one of Britians greatest songwriters and should be admired in the same way that Richard Thompson and Elvis Costello are today.
