League Challenge Trophy 2012-2013

I didn't say that the SSML Challenge Trophy is County Cup however if a Club makes a case to play a tie on a Saturday, for whatever reason, rather than midweek then I'm sure the fixture Secretary would consider the request

and give themselves a fixture headache for no reason? Quintuple moron. These are all good reasons you dont have that job.

How much fun can you have though watching a bloke continually take his knob out and piss all over himself?

Actually, it's amusing.

Has this changed this year then? Else, as much as much as it pains me to say it, I agree with Rhodes.

Senior County Cup used to take precedence over all football from Step 3 and below

Maybe senior does but our teams play in intermidiate and junior. League challenge isn't county cup either

Not all County Cup games have precedence just the most senior competition each team has entered so if you enter both a senior cup and a charity cup then only the Senior Cup has precedence. The same with clubs who have reserve teams, their most senior competition will get precedence.

Here's one, a report from another Forum:

SOUTH MIDLANDS LEAGUE CUP

Chesham United Reserves 3-2 Tring Athletic

Admission £4.00 Programme £1.00 Burger & chips £3.00 Tea £1.50

A late change of plan which I nearly regretted as the main route through Chesham was being closed and resurfaced resulting in diversions both there and back. However, I still arrived on time and the game itself proved something of a surprise as Chesham were in no way overawed by their higher status opponents. They scored twice, Tring pulled one back with a rather fortuitous penalty before the young Generals made the tie safe in the last few minutes.

Hot food is back on the menu, however the burgers are about half the size of the buns and there didn't seem to be any salt for my chips. Tea (Tetley) is now also available along which made a change from the uninspiring coffee that the machine dispenses, unfortunately the price is still the same.

It appears that at some point Tring scored a second goal. I have campaigned relentlessly for any goals scored when I'm not looking to be ruled out, but the League official wandering around last night didn't seem very impressed. However, given the respective sizes of Tring's support and Amy Lane, it's understandable that any celebrations would be barely audible and quickly disappear into the night sky

A summary of the above First Round ties from the SSML newsletter:

LEAGUE CHALLENGE TROPHY – FIRST ROUND

Without floodlights, all six of these ties had to be played on a Saturday, with five involving Div Two sides hosting clubs from a higher Division but sadly there were no giant killing stories to relate. Both Hale Leys Utd and Risboro Rangers hosted strong Premier Division opposition, and both succumbed to identical 6-0 defeats. Dunstable Town were the visitors at Hale Leys and at half time were only a single goal to the good, but they proved too strong in the second period, running in a further five goals. Risborough Rangers entertained Hanwell Town but were unable to replicate previous giant killing acts although they gave a good account of themselves in the first half. “Windsors” was looking a picture in the autumn sunshine and the welcome hospitality and tea was up to the usual high standards and who knows what would have happened if Risboro had taken a gift wrapped chance half way through the first period. They didn’t and Hanwell scored twice soon afterwards. They were still in with a shout as the second period began but shot themselves in the foot conceding an early goal and there was no way back. Wodson Park, languishing at the foot of Div One put their league form behind them as a Pete Sawyer double helped them to a 3-1 win away at Div Two high flyers Aston Clinton whilst a high scoring game at Tring Corinthians saw the hosts go down 5-3 to Stony Stratford Town. Corry took an early lead but Stony hit back quickly to lead 2-1 at the break, and further goals from Lee Jones, his second, Danny Simpson, and Jack Wing saw them through to an away tie at Dunstable Town. A second half brace from Adam Bolle helped London Lions to a 4-2 home win over Totternhoe and in the only all Div Two clash, Pitstone & Ivinghoe came out on top 2-1 over Broxbourne Boro.
