The entire Redbridge team left last season to go to Maldon & Tiptree in the same league so the Redbridge team this season are a bunch of young novices at Ryman League in fact most have hardly featured at that level before so whilst a good result on paper cant be associated with linked with their team from last season .

Interestingly enough Maldon and Redbrige oops I mean Maldon and Tiptree (spot the deliberate error) beat London Apsa who play in the ESL ( step 5) 9-1 in the cup yesterday which shoiws how strong they are but as London Lions beat Clapton 4-0 in the previous round the ESL's bottom tier sides could be considered very weak

Of course I understand they are not the same team as last season, but they did win their first league game and any step 5 team beating a step 4 team 5-0, surely should raise some eyebrows. Credit were credit is due.

DT and St Mags deserve some too and given Trings start to the season that was a great result for them.

Spot on, dont know if the manontheinside is a Step 4 fan, sour grapes maybe. They just hate being beaten by step 5/6 clubs. Edited by OD's

I hate losing to anyone, never mind what Step they are!

Tring Athletic played well yesterday and I am looking forward to the replay. I would hope that Ashford would play better than yesterday - we'll get beaten if we don't!

Fantastic two goals for Uxbridge, momentums with them I'd say.

should Tring win their replay the ssml will have 3 definite representatives in the second round qualifying

Yes, that's a mouth watering thought and two of those are likely to be drawn together, when was the last time a SSML Club reached the 3rd Qulifying Round

Berkhamsted will have to wait, the game ends 2-2

On what evidence do you base your assumption that two SSML clubs are "likely" to be drawn together in the second qualifying round? At that stage of the competition, a fresh set of regional groups is drawn up along a North / Midlands / South basis, rather than the North-East, North-West, South-East, South-West arrangement used for the first three rounds.
