Sorry - but no report

Apologies - I did not get to Basingstoke.

I left Romford at 12.30 and then heard the traffic news about a nine mile delay onto the Dartford Bridge.

As the M25 north was 'clear' I decided to use the northern route - then, as I got to the South Mimms junction, came the news of a delay from junctions 19 to 12 (and it was J12 that I wanted).

Sat Nav then took me down the M1 and on to the A406 - where I had covered about three miles 45 mins later.

By this time it was 2 pm and I was in a motionless traffic jam in the Hanger Lane area - I gave it a bit longer and then realised that I was still three or four miles short of the motorway, and the traffic was not moving.

So I would not have got to Basingstoke before half time at the earlier, so I gave up and went back.

Hopefully someone can update the forum with the score and line ups and scorers (if any)

Tony

I will try my best and I'm sure the ones who were there we can piece it together between us.

Basingstoke 1 chay Morris 2 rob rice 3 Matt Warner 4 Ross Adams 5 jay gasson 6 Stuart lake captain 7 wes daly 8 Simon Dunn 9 Tim sills 10 stefan brown 11 Toby little. 12 Shaun mcauley 14 Nathan Campbell 15 Chris Paterson 16 Kieron maylen 17 joe McDonnell

I think they made 3 subs but not sure what they were.

Hornchurch 1 joe Woolley 2 Alex Bentley 3 Elliot styles 4 Simon glover 5 Paul goodacre 6 reiss Noel 7 tambeson Eyong 8 frank Curley 9 Martin touhy 10 Lewis smith 11 Michael spencer 12 Sam

Cutler 14 Leon Mckenzie 15 Aaron gayle 16 joey may 17 James love

We made 3 subs. James love came on early in first half for Alex Bentley. Then early second half Sam cutlet came on for Elliot styles frank Curley then got the Armband. Then joey may came on for tam around the 80 minute mark.

Hornchurch won 2-0 first goal Scored by touhy from the penalty spot after tam was fouled In the box on around 80 minutes. Lewis smith then scored a good left footed shot across the goalkeeper into the far right corner I think that was scored around the 70th minute mark.

It was a good game and Hornchurch played well. Im sure someone can give a few more details. Really glad with the result and performance.

Thanks for the info - I knew I would likely be cutting it fine to get to Basingstoke, but when the traffic news told me about the jams from J19 to J12, my only alternative was to follow the Sat Nav which took me down the M1 and onto the A406, which turned out to be a nightmare.

Had I taken the back roads to the Dartford Bridge I may well have got there, but did not do so because of the traffic news which said there were delays at the Clacket Lane and Leatherhead sections of the M25.

Might be better to keep the traffic news switched off in future.

Well according to the mighty Basingstoke forum - they will never play a poorer side then us this season.

That's rich considering we have just beaten them...so how poor must they be? [****!!****]ing inbreds...I've never liked that place.

Anyway great result and we move on to Dorchester who are doing well at the min...but I fancy our chances of an 'upset'.

They wont like the early morning start that's for sure....
