...before the money runs out?

This week I read that Laz has finally recognised that he had to leave EFC and he has severed his ties. (These are serious questions, I'm not mocking)

How long can the club afford to pay Borehamwood for the use of the ground?

Will Laz be repaying the money he owes the club?

Is it really likely that someone will step in and support the club financially when they have very little in the way of assets at present and no real hope of securing a ground in the borough?

I would like to think there is someone out there who would step in a take over and I am sure now TL is out of the ay there is more chance of the happening then there was before.

You have to remember the club is running on a shoestring at present so it would not take a vast ammount to keep things ticking over untill things are sorted out.

The main thing is the players and terry's wages.

all match expences should be covered up gate fees even on low crowds other clubs are doing it.

Terry claimed recently that it cost Lazarou over £100,000 a season to run the club.

''all match expences should be covered up gate fees even on low crowds other clubs do it.''

Most other clubs in the Ryman don't have to pay ground-share fees on gates of around 50.......Also,there's normally a willing supply of unpaid volunteers to help run those clubs.

P.S...Southport/Mr Happy..... Let's turn down the p*ss-taking directed at the EFC fans it's becoming a bit O.T.T.

Gonzo - as you ask so nicely I'll consider it; but remember life is a 2 way street, and we ahve taken a lot of Cr&p to date.

Turn the other cheek chaps. We have nothing to prove.
I for one feel a lot of sadness for what is still happening at EFC

thanks for that Jim Southport has been a bit over the top lately. It is a two way street and banter is fine. but with the present situation its a bit like laughing at someone whos fallen off a boat into the sea while the ship sails on and saying how colds the water. a bit of a laugh for the bloke on the ship. Don't think the bloke in the waters laughing.

none of us who stayed expected wonderful flowing football and top of theleague stuff. thats not why were here.

Unfortunately Enfield til I die

I don't think we've been taking the p*** out of the fans (well not too much). Most of the jibes have been directed at Lazarou. I have already stated that there was a lot of good humour at the derby game. A lot of the p*** taking seems to come from Freebird.

I hear Greg Howell has gone to Waltham Forest and I expect that actually getting paid is part of his reason for going. I hope this isn't the beginning of a mad rush for the exit door. Personally, I don't want to see EFC disappear, even though I, myself, voted with my feet and follow ETFC.

ok I accept the "rebuke" and WILL tone it down;
BUT whilst I did not start this war of words i am happy to end it here.

If EFC and their fan base, lay off then I will lay off;
If they don't then it remains a 2 ways street;
if they continue to slag off the efforts of ETFC then do not expect me to remain silent.

choice is yours <img src="/images/graemlins/affig.gif" alt="" />

If you look around the Div One and Div Two results and attendances you will see clubs getting low attendances and they pay there own way.

Referee fee is £30
Assistant fee is £15 each
with travel expences
most officials fees dont come to more than £80 to £90

with gate fees at £8.00 this season and from my visits to borehamwood this season most watching are adults 35 would more than cover the match official fee.

As even if EFC add the club officials onto there attandance which is 10 per club on a 35 crowd this would leave 15 paying and still leaving enough.

this is not taking into account the programme money income
and that the pitch and lights are paid for and tea hut run by Boreham Wood

I would say EFC are not putting the club officials onto the attendance, which is up to them to do or not do.

That still leaves no money to play the players or management.

So it leaves no money for players and management whats it to you.

The manager got us relegated last season so he could go that would save loads for a start and that leaves us about 30 quid to pay the players.

That would leave things a bit tight on the money front for management and players, but that all depends on what the are on and if any money can be found elsewhere, Cup Prize money ect

I am not trying to stir or wind up and fully accept that it is none of my business, but as an interested supporter of non-league football and former EFC supporter, I would have thought that paying the match officials is probably the smallest expense involved in runing a senior football club, and that your figures are a little naive for a man of your experience, Freebird.

Players and coaching staff to be paid; rent to be paid to the host club; away match travel; insurances; kit and equipment purchase, cleaning and replacement; affiliation and entry fees, players registrations etc; non-football staff wages (if applicable); police costs; these are the obvious costs off the top of my head that can't possibly be met from a crowd of 35 or so. There is no income from the bar or burger stand, and on attendances like that the programme can't make a profit unless it's a photocopied A4 sheet!

35 x 8 was 280 when I was at school, it may have changed since of course!
