How many clubs balance the books on gate revenue alone? Man Utd. probably do and that's about it.

Funny that i did not ask the question but received an answer, so from that i would suggest either the wrong question was asked by the wrong person or maybe the right person or the right question was asked but by the wrong person.

Err, no, me neither!

No, FB, of course EFC can't give answers to such questions at this stage. I was jusrt vaguely wondering about it, that's all. No doubt some sponsorship deal or something is being negotiated. It's purely idle speculation on my part but it seems to me that the only hope is a very rich hobbyist, a la Rushden/Canvey/Hornchurch, to put huge sums in to buy a site, build a ground and bankroll the team until support has been built up based on playing success, and a sustainable source of income produced (bar, club etc).

Or maybe Laz is going to give all the money back?

Yeah, and I'm the Prime Minister!
Yeah, and Spurs will win the Premiership!
Yeah, and Fruitbat won't have a go at refs!
Yeah, and Southport and Freebird are the best of buddies!

I thought Laz had to give the money back

If that did ever happen EFC would be in a nice position

Its not hard to work out.

There's more chance of me winning the lottery than Laz paying the money back.

Are you sure, The FA said he had to pay it back, there are others like the Revenue after him as well. maybe he would have to sell a house or two and then the club may get something.

I'm surprised there's no talk of the voting that took place in Northern Cyprus. I heard it (the country) may become recognised in the near future. What was the outcome of the vote?

They might find HIS properties are not registered in HIS name....as such they wouldn't be able to touch them.

Previous quote from Steph :-
'That is around £6500 a year or, if you prefer, a season. When you suggest that the club do not even pay expenses for the players you are truly playing in the Corinthian spirit.

The last two clubs, to my knowledge, that function in such a manor are Corinthian Casuals and Clapton. Now what league are they in?'

Corinthian-Casuals are in the Rymans Div 1 south exactly the same level as Enfield, they are proof that it is possible to exist at this level without paying wages or expenses. Think how many million pounds Enfield has paid out over the last 40 years to end up at the same level as a amateur club.

Further quote from Steph:-

'You will have no players on contract so will have difficulty knowing who is in the side and has not gone to another club.'

What nonsence although amateur players are not on contract, they sign Rymans League registration forms, and other clubs have to give 7 days notice of approach before transfer forms can be signed by both clubs.

IT is possible to be amateur at this level.
