Thanks for the comment Jono , been a while since ampthill had a good word lol

Don't know about that I think majority of members very supportive of what you have achieves and continue to do so. Greenduck also very complimentary. Can't really think of anyone negative other than the usual nonce who nobody listens to anyway.

What is going on with Southall give 2 goals away in injury time!!! Gonna be a lot of wasted money this season. That budget should guarantee you div1 so either manager isn't up to it or players don't care. Heard Ath never really looked like scoring and pitch was bad but Southall didn't look up to much at all. Also lad in 90th for Southall rounds keeper to make it 4-1 and falls over his own feet!!!

Saturday 8th December

ANAGRAM RECORDS TROPHY Third Round

4-4* Aston Clinton v Kent Athletic (Kent Athletic won 3-0 on penalties)

An interesting report on this one from another Forum:

Anagram Records Feeder Leagues Trophy 3rd Round

1.35pm

Aston Clinton 4 Kent Athletic 4 (Kent Athletic won 3-0 on penalties after extra time)

Admission free

Programme £1

Attendance 14

Had intended to go Eltham Palace for a 1.45pm start then head over to the Ice Hockey at Brixton and after receiving a game on text from the sec I headed for the train station. Seconds before buying my ticket I got a game off text frown.gif the boiler at the ground had failed and there was no hot water. Didn't have time to get to my 2nd choice of Bridon Ropes so jumped back in the car and headed to my back up of Aston Clinton (which sounds like the name of some dodgy Tory politician) for my debut game in this competition between 1st and 2nd in the SSML Div Two.

Ground is situated just off the main road through the village and is nothing more than a roped off public park. The clubhouse is actually a cafe/bar/restaurant and programmes were available from here from the man in the ACFC jacket.

Game was a cracker on a lovely sunny winter's afternoon with Kent leading 2-0 & 3-2 before conceding an injury time equalizer to take the game to extra time, which was played in very poor light as we kicked off late and had a lengthy half time. Penalties were taken in even worse light and Aston Clinton missed all three of theirs as opposed to just one for the visitors. I was pleased Kent went through as they were on the rough end of some very dubious decisions from the officials.

Saturday 8th December

DIVISION TWO

4-3 Hale Leys United v Caddington

A report on this one from another Forum:

Hale Leys United 4 Caddington 3

Spartan South Midlands League.Division Two

A nice cheap day out on the outskirts of Aylesbury to watch Hale Leys beat bottom of the table Caddington in an extremely entertaining match.

Caddington took the lead on five minutes through a penalty but soon found themselves behind after 23 minutes as Hale Leys woke up and then proceeded to miss chance after chance. They were made to pay with less than twenty minutes to go as Caddington scored through another penalty but once again Hale Leys regained the lead within three minutes. They then stretched their lead before the visitors pulled a goal back.Great entertainment for the 19 people watching the match.

As for the venue, well, its very basic.A roped off pitch which is alongway from the changing room block but it is an excellent playing surface which would be a good bet on a wet day.No programmes today but I picked up one from their last match.Free cup of coffee provided pre-match which was most welcome. Also BDC0652 was in attendance who travelled alot further than me for this match!

ANAGRAM RECORDS TROPHY Third Round

3-2* Letchworth Garden City Eagles v Totternhoe

A report on this one from another Forum:

Anagram Records Trophy 3rd round

Letchworth Garden City Eagles (Herts Senior County League Prem) (0) (1) 3

Totternhoe (SSML Div 2) (0) (1) 2

Attendance; 60 est

Admission £2, prog £1, tea 70p

My chosen venue on Saturday was the Anagram Records Trophy 3rd round game between Letchworth Garden City Eagles (Herts Senior County League Prem) and Totternhoe (SSML Div 2).

The Pixmore pitch had stood up well to the rigours of the weeks wintery weather but still needed an early pitch inspection to confirm the game could go ahead. Totternhoe looked to have the upper hand during the early stages but the Eagles young side stood up well and slowly began to get into the game causing the visitors a few nervy times during the first period of play. Both sides however failed to find the net and the game was therefore goal less at the break. In the second half it was Totternhoe that looked the more likely, Eagles lacking the motivation they'd shown in the first half. The visitors finally got the goal that their second half efforts deserved and looked to be heading through to next round. With two minutes remaining Eagles finally got an opening and levelled the scores to take the game into extra time. As with so many other cup games with a late equaliser a goal in the first few minutes of extra time put the home side ahead. This was extended to a 3-1 lead before Totternhoe reduced the arrears before HT of ET. Lots of chances in the second half of extra time for both sides but no further goals. So it was Eagles that move into the next round of the competition.

Leverstock Green 1 AFC Dunstable 4

Must take time out to congratulate AFC on the win yesterday. With 9 first teamers either suspended, injured or unavailable, 6 reserve team players made the step up and did not look out of place. Did hit the reserve team hard though, as had the bare 11 and lost 6-3.

I meant that at least Ampthill can't meet Oadby Town again, hopefully it's a fairly comfortable home draw

It sounds like the scoreline flattered them though:
