DIVISION ONE

Hoddesdon Town v Stony Stratford

Yet another midweek league game where a club from the Milton Keynes/Bedfordshire area has to travel AWAY to Lowfields.

When was the last time League game wise it was a role reversal????

We always seemed to have to go there midweek, Royston too, only time in memory it was other way round was in one of the cups earlier this season.

2nd October - Winslow United v Hoddesdon Town

29th August - Crawley Green v Hoddesdon Town

The only previous time a club from the areas you stated went to Lowfield was 30th October when Cranfield United travelled

We were talking about over the seasons as it does seem to be the way over the years.

KB....I said 'League game' not cup as the Winslow one was.

Would like to know the last time Hoddy came to MK for a midweek league game, or deep into Bedfordshire, not Crawley Green which is a piece of p**s for them.

Over the years, New Bradwell, Stony, Cranfield, Ampthill to name a few are asked to travel to Lowfields midweek for a league game, but tbh cannot recall the last time they had to make such a trek themselves.

Not knocking the club, but after so many seasons a pattern has seemed to develop.

Maybe the league don't like clubs our way????

It is the leagues 'sweetener' to Roger for not promoting Hoddy when they finish outside promotion places

It could just be because Hoddy miss out on the first 4 or 5 weeks of the season given the share with the cricket meaning they have more home games to squeeze in from mid September onwards

Could be, fair point, still does seem MK area teams go there a lot when they have plenty of close neighbours. Nothing against Hoddy as they don't create fixtures

Since their relegation from the Prem would be interesting to know the last time they had a midweek league game away at say Stony, New Bradwell, Ampthill, Winslow, Cranfield or any other close club.

As I say not picking on the club but.....this seems to be the norm every season, just an observation, that's all

To answer your question (League Games Only)

2005/2006 They travelled to Arlesey Athletic midweek while Stony Stratford Town went to Lowfield midweek.

2006/2007 No midweek games involving clubs you mentioned either away or at home.

2007/2008 They travelled to Stony Stratford Town midweek whilst New Bradwell St Peter went to Lowfield midweek.

2008/2009 They travelled to Brache Sparta and Amersham Town midweek whilst Ampthill Town, Arlesey Athletic, Winslow United and Buckingham Athletic all went to Lowfield midweek.

2009/2010 They travelled to Bedford Town Reserves, Crawley Green and Amersham Town midweek whilst Brache Sparta and AFC Dunstable went to Lowfield midweek.

2010/2011 They travelled to Ampthill Town midweek whilst Bedford, Crawley Green, Cranfield United, Amersham Town and New Bradwell St Peter all went to Lowfield midweek.

2011/2012 They travelled Chesham United Reserves midweek whilst Crawley Green, Cranfield United, Langford, Bedford, Ampthill Town and New Bradwell St Peter all had midweek trips to Lowfield.

Luck of the draw I guess. Lets be honest though, in div 1 it hasn't exactly benefited us in all those years!!

And being a supporter of the club, I have travelled far and wide midweek for many a league and cup game!! Tiptree being a particular favourite!!

LOL Jonno honestly am not knocking your club mate but, looks like to get promotion you need midweek games as far afield as possible, maybe
